Pumpkin Seji is my new favorite ;) Also: another graphic novel that is absolutely lovely, atmospheric but not scary, is perfect for autumn/spooky season and also has heaps of representation (without making a big deal out of it, which I personally love) is Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker and Wendy Xu. It's just a lovely story about witchcraft, family and friendship and I'll definitely be rereading it for fortnight frights 🌟

I also recommend The Halloween Tree by Bradbury. It's definitely spooky, but not scary, and it delves into the world history of Halloween. I finally got a chance to read it last year when my friend sent me a copy. It's the last thing he sent me before he passed away, and I absolutely love and treasure it.

I wonder if Pan’ s Labyrinth the film or book came first? I recommend Jonathan Auxier’s books; The Night Gardener in particular is Coraline-creepy. All his books are set in Victorian England, so they’d be fitting for those participating in Victober as well. All have a creepy dark edge.

I love your fortnight frights literature compendium! I discovered some Austrian literature I had never heard about before (and I am from Austria) - so I will be reading „Master of the day of Judgement“ by Leo Perutz during fortnight frights 😊 🎃 and I will definitely return to that list for recommendations in the future!

Princess Decomposia and Count Spatula is a very silly graphic novel about the princess of hell and a vampire chef. I loved it 😅 I think it's technically classified as YA but I personally would call it middle grade lol. In case anybody has kiddos who want to participate
