I recently worked at Triumph, within the team who designed the powertrain for this very bike. There is an amazing amount of testing and development going on at Triumph to perfect the performance and durability of all of their models. Triumph put everything in to this new Tiger 1200 and I’m not surprised everyone seems to be loving it!

As a 2 time Triumph owner, I was a bit upset that they went to the T crank on the 900. Thought it ruined the soul of the triple. But damn this 1200 sound so damn good. I'd love to hear one of these in anger with an aftermarket pipe...

As a 3yr owner of the 2019 1200 XCA I can tell you that front wheel noise is not the tyre but the spokes. Very annoying when riding with the visor up. Also the electronics are very quick to get used to so no issues there.

It seems like an amazing bike, and a great upgrade. However, the extra 119 lbs is too. I have of a compromise off-road. If I was doing mostly road and only some off-road or light off-road, I’d go with this. Otherwise, I’d prefer doing steep ascents and descents and stream crossings on the 900.

I’ve got the 850 sport and I have no problems with vibrations, at all, ever, never. And my mate on his 900 gt pro is of the same opinion. Not a clue what other peeps are going on about, I love the character it give the bike. I find most modern engine’s are anodyne and feel more like car engines and I include the previous 800 and the mighty GS . Got shot of both just sooo boring.

If I could somehow manage to scrape up enough money to afford a full size ADV, I’d love to get my hands on the GT Explorer in blue, gah it’s so attractive! It seems to blend utilitarian and contemporary design seamlessly. Thing is, I would never require such a large fuel tank nor need the blind spot assist but I the bodywork on the Explorer over the Pro almost tempts me enough to pay the premium. Something about the styling and/or proportion up front just seems to sit better with me.

@@MichaelWilliams-jc2ui Remove the shift lever?
@MichaelWilliams-jc2ui
@MichaelWilliams-jc2ui 2 жыл бұрын
@@ryanmalone2681 Ryan, there’s 2 ways of adjusting the gear lever position. First the top lever of the linkage rod is on the gearbox shaft. With an 8mm spinner undo and remove the clamp bolt, ease the lever off the shaft and move it around one notch to move the gear lever higher, this is the slightly crude method as is not finely adjustable as it goes one whole notch at a time. The best way on the tiger is at each end of the black connector rod there is a 10mm lock nut. Useing a 10mm spanner loosen them both by turning the spanner to the left, then run them up the thread a bit. Rotate the black rod (by hand) and the gear lever will move up or down as one thread is left handed and the other is right. When you have the lever in it’s preferred position tighten the 10mm locking nuts and bingo, the jobs done!

KZbin has automated tools that review videos for "dangerous" driving/riding which flags and takes down videos. You can challenge it but it takes forever to get a real person to review your challenge. "Is that a bit woofy?"😂😂😂 great review Boothy.. I had the older 1200 explorer. Great engine for the road but too smooth ( ie not much traction) and revvy off road ..not that you'd EVER have considered taking that top heavy behemoth off road. Made mistake once...never again! Got shot of it after a few years as I got sick of hauling the thing around when getting it off and on the stand or wheeling it about...ridiculously heavy. The new one looks to be way better but a GS beater? 😐 nah. Had a GSA. It was miles better than the trumpet in most respects. Can't see that anything will out GS a GS except maybe for another GS. The new trumpet might be the better road bike with the lighter weight and stronger engine but off road the GS has the gruntier low down delivery and lower CoG. The new 1200 has certainly closed the gap though.

If I have been riding in the right side all my life and went to the UK how hard would it be?

You'll be alright as long as it's busy... it's when there's no other traffic on the road, prompting you where to go, that it becomes a bit tricky. I've been riding on the left (UK) and the right (abroad) for as long as I can remember, and I still get myself into a bit of a tizz sometimes. Don't let that put you off coming though.

Why does Triumph always feel the need to try & out do the GS! Just do your own thing Triumph. The 1200GS / 1250GS can’t be beaten, it’s pretty much perfect.

The fact it isn’t a GS automatically makes it better than a GS.

Triumph always seems to be the bike that isn't quite up there with the other big brand bikes in their respective categories when it comes to tech or horsepower.... but never too far off either. They just seem to always be a bit behind, but still chugging along.
