The plaintiff claims the defendant knowingly sold him a dangerous vehicle, so the plaintiff is suing for a refund. The defendant says he sold the plaintiff the car for $400 and gave him a good deal because he’s friends with the plaintiff’s dad. He admits there was something wrong with the starter switch, but the defendant fixed it, and everything was fine. The defendant is countersuing for money owed on repairs and storage fees.

I believe he did pay the almost 3k for the car, but because they lied for tax purposes, the plaintiff screwed himself. He wasn't naïve though. He was trying to defraud the government, too, but didn't want to get into trouble for it, so was acting innocent and clueless. But, because it now became a case concerning paying for repairs, he can now get his money back that way. He just have to do his proof right, before taking it to court, otherwise, he'll lose again.

The defendant seems like a real ass. The plaintiff seems really clueless. I still don't think he got that another shop will have to swear that the repairs he paid for were either not done or done improperly. And it sounds as if a bunch of repairs were done, just not everything that needs to be fixed. And everything that wasn't fixed will be the plaintiff's responsibility to pay for. I think he is going to be disappointed again.

it worked both ways, the shop owner put 400 on the bill of sale as it was a cash deal and he also didn't have to pay tax on it as it didn't go through the books, many are cash deals that don't go on the books, hhehehe yes because only certain parts are claimed defective, only a few parts were mentioned, the longer he drives the more faults are going to come to light,7 days is not long enough, transmission is next part going bust, as one can put stuff in the transmission to keep it quiet for a few weeks until it is burnt up,

There is no such thing as an honest car dealer salesperson! Specially used cars sales persons! They don't give you anything for your trade-in and then you turn around and they want to charge what the car cost new! And they lied through your teeth! Always! Always get your used car checked out by a reliable mechanic get everything down on paper! Some mechanics do it for nothing especially if you've been going to them to fix your cars for years. Others will charge a minimal fee but believe me it'll be worth it.

It's not that easy to defraud the govt in my county as it relates to paying taxes on vehicle sales. It doesn't matter what you paid or say you paid for the car, they charge you taxes on the blue book value so that cuts all that out. I have no idea what they will do if you purchase a car that is inoperable and is not the value the blue book says. I guess some form of protest will be in place.
