It wasn't prison, it was county jail in 8 months. Is the average any person can do sitting in jail Waiting for your case to be done. If you are not able to bond out, you will sit in jail month after a month fore every court date.. Chances are he didn't even get an 8 month sentence. He probably got probation, but he had to sit there for 8 months to get that probation. Because he didn't have money, to bond out
