You get Trawlers from level 2 of a Maritime Alliance in Alliances Expanded, and they are absolutely BROKEN. They work like sea vampire castles except the yields teleport to your capital and you can build 1 per city. It's incredibly easy to get like 100+ food and production in the capital with Trawlers. I'd recommend get a Maritime alliance literally as soon as possible and rush to build a trawler in every single coastal city.

Çatalhöyük is one of the oldest settlements dating back to 7000 BC in Anatolia. Really nice to see in Civ. It starst with a "ch" sound, the O is pronounced like the U in "burn", and the U is pronounced like the E in "grew" as a Scottish person would pronounce it.

I may be too late with this advice but the arsenal is a much better choice where you put the waterfront pin in Braga. Will give +2 production to unimproved tiles adjacent to it with the relevant building. Waterfront is better in natural harbors with high appeal cause it gives bonuses to adjacent breathtaking tiles

Leifong Pagoda sounds potentially busted- you basically have a game long monumentality golden age and you can pick the cheaper apostle trait and use them late game, would probably be cheaper than buying builders normally

Dude I've been playing Portugal myself lately and it's such an insane civ that no one talks about. You just start accelerating when your trade routes start coming online and you never let go of the gas. With Owls of Minerva you completely lock down coastal city states, no one's ever gonna take them from you. Then you have so much gold you just buy everything, and once Naus are in play you just accelerate even more.

11:27 very interesting. That city is called Çatalhöyük in Turkey and is pronounced with something similar to "ch" sound not "k" sound. (Similar to how you pronounce Chandragupta's name) Interesting that mod implemented that as a city state because it was a very very old settlement dating back to 7000 BC located in Konya, central Turkey and it is a heritage site today. Interesting city state mod to check out

Extended Policy Cards doesn't always do well for modded policies. I'm currently experimenting with adding criteria such as "tile isn't a district" to the policy so that even though this makes no difference for gameplay, EPC will not show yields from unworkable tiles on Natural Harbors.

Temple of Poseidon is one of my all time favorite wonder mods. Stack that with the "Itsukushima Shrine" wonder mod and you can make a fantastic coastal faith generator.

An english city whose roman name was similarly named was Eboracum, modern day York. If York hadn't change it's name, the american city New York could have instead be named "New Évora".

man, FINALLY! was waiting for a Portuguese save for so long! tbh i made like 8 games in deity, all with Portugal, i have 50 games in Portugal, Portugal all the way. gold all the way. its just, if you dont die early. or lose a city early. its such an auto win, like its not normal to get 3 to 5k gold for most of the game and like 1.5k early xD also naus are great. Specially if you get any coastal cities.

You know, one thing I think Harbours should have. Coastal Guns. Treat them a bit like an encampment and give them a 2 range attack. Would only be available from Renaissance era onwards. Coastal Battery would be it's modern equivalent (missiles). Whether this is mutually exclusive with other buildings who knows. A mod could split the unit and production bonuses where shipyards and the like give you food+gold+production while the coastal guns, arsenal and floating fortress would give you unit production bonuses like the barracks/military academy & a 2 range district attack like the encampment. Would be a good way to specialise cities too.

If anyone is trying to play this modpack and it's crashing disable The Hero Sume, he breaks Heroes and legends Mode. otherwise you can't play with the mode so the mod is pointless because he's a hero.
