It's hard to believe that these card keys are supposed to give us a sense of safety. It's also shocking these men had been regularly stealing from the rooms of Hotel guests for what appeared to be a lengthy time and hadn't been caught. I would think the first report from a hotel guest especially in such a ritzy establishment that this would have been made a priority and a very tight rain would have been put on access to these keys.
@jacquelinejohnie2598
@jacquelinejohnie2598 Жыл бұрын
Exactly! Very difficult to comprehend that nothing was done about theft from guest's rooms. Shocking! Had something been done initially to curb the ongoing theft, it could have been nipped in the bud and prevented Michaela from been murdered. My opinion is that the suspects that were released are definitely guilty seeing as the one worked security - they were all in cahoots with each other. It appears that corruption is obviously rife. How they got off scott free with the only witness (who is now deceased), boggles the mind. I truly hope justice prevails in this sad case. May she rest in peace.

We’re the owners of the hotel ever investigated? I had an acquaintance that told us he quit his job at a luxury hotel because the owner had them steal. Then if they got caught they’d “get fired” and “disciplined.” “Blacklisted” in the industry. But as soon as those guests were gone they were back at it. He did it once and felt guilty when he heard a couple arguing over who’d misplaced their belongings, each blaming the other, and got really nervous about it so he quit. He got a lot of threats over divulging information to police even though nothing got done, so he moved to the US. I don’t remember the country he said it was but if it happened there, it could be the case in other places.

I'm like you I believe that if this happened to a member of my family I would encourage the Irish not to go to a country whose police force is corrupt so that crime is rampant. Self protection of citizens is more important then a country's PR. If the said country wants tourism then it's important that the corruption is dealt with ASAP. This reminds me of the Natalee Holloway case when she went to Aruba and their police were so corrupt and inept protecting a judge and his son Americans boycotted go in there.
