I've had family that lived through the difficult times of the 1890s-through the 40's, and into the early 50s----times were very, vert seriously hard! This generation, and the baby boomer generation before this one, have never been tested like those generations had. --And they survived. Your lamp is missing the glass fluted piece. Put the brass oil lamp piece into the base and the the glass fluted chimney sits on that and the top globe sits down over the chimney! Very pretty piece! Congrats on all the great stuff!

Jeremy, ALL SOAP is antibacterial. Yes, I know, it doesn't "say" it, but it is. Vinegar & lemon juice are also good cleaners for solid surfaces. They are also antibacterial/anti viral and actually kill the flu virus (Not certain about CV19, but reg flu is killed). Just some info for everyone, I hope it helps! Smells great too! You can really clean your entire house with 3 things, vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda and/Or salt.

Those brown clear beads look like amber. And Saks Fifth Avenue was an ultra high end store in NYC. those costume pieces probable cost hundreds there. Congrats on the great buy. Jeremy when you get so excited your eyes go darker, my late Dad had green eyes and his did the same. I have dark brown eyes but have always been fascinated by green and thank you for bringing to mind memories of my darling Dad. The jewellery box was amazing, some of those beauties I thought extremely beautiful and the metal lamp base is lovely, I've never seen a metal base before and have to wonder what the shade was like as the base is so decorative. I have to be honest and say I am so curious about what you will find next, I understand why you love storage units, the great pleasure in going through boxes and totes to find treasure, lovely items that haven't seen the light of day for ages and being given a new lease of life - wonderful.
