Awesome video! Thanks for taking the time to review and test the insoles. Looks like it working out much better for you.

Yeah, I’m feeling much more stable. Appreciate the kind words, thanks for watching.

It's interesting to see how a different footbed can change to characteristics of the boot and the ability to do certain grinds. I think after getting used to them they would be fine... Just an adjustment period to get used to a different setup. Drew did a test on some really promising insoles the other day and I'm looking at replacing my beat up old stock Seba ones
@BacktoBlading6 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. I’ve never even considered footbeds before, and I’m obsessed now. I saw Drew’s video, going to give them a shot. Thanks!

I think the idea of a forward lean skate is that when you have a forward lean and you bend your knees you get an even ride, the bending of your knees compensates for the forward lean of the rollerblades resulting in an even ride or even grind

Love, LOVE your videos man! As a 34 year old trying to get "back to blading" myself haha i am learning so much about new tech. Only thing i really wanna see is why not throw in the stock footbed during all this testing? Would certainly be an enlightening factor into all the testing you are doing! Keep up the good work!!!!!!!
@BacktoBlading6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That's awesome, appreciate the kind words. Welcome back! Yeah, I just know that stock footbed isn't for me. I'm very particular with my lean, and it's just too forward. I did use it for the first impression video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/imbKZoyJhpKojZo) and during the insole roundup (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHyuhGuOfNp5pJo). When you know, you know. What skates are you on now?
@scottmolloy23456 жыл бұрын
Well my lineage went from Rollerblade Tarmacs, then K2 Fattys, onto Roces 5th Elements then Solomon ST8s. Took a tiny 18 year break and now just picked up a pair of Razors SL3s!! Haha. Only rode them a couple of times so far but mannnnn can you say soul plates!!!!!! Also trying out the stock anti-rocker set-up for the first time since the Fatty days. Can't wait for the warm weather and getting out there!
@BacktoBlading6 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I got back with SL3s too, great skate for getting used to things again. The FLT3 are a great anti rocker frame. I didn't have any experience with the little barrel wheels but they seem ok. So long as you're skating again, all that matters. =)

Love these videos man! I have been out of skating since 2003. I am getting back to it largely because of the videos you are posting. I bought a pair of K2 Unnaturals and decided to pick up the New Jacks as well, but I haven't tried them out yet. My biggest struggle has just been getting comfortable enough skating again, I feel like a first time skater again. I know you tried out the front streets which are bit different, but I was curious what your thoughts are on the K2 vs. New Jacks as far as a beginner pair of skates? Despite the fact I skated for over 15 years I feel like a beginner.
@BacktoBlading5 жыл бұрын
Welcome back! I’ve done reviews of both skates, and highly recommend the New Jack over the K2. They’re so much easier to skate.

Back to Blading, one more question. Anti-rocker set ups were not real common when I was skating. Are they just easier to skate than flat set ups? Or is it specifically the NJ Teams that make it so easy?

Thanks man! They don’t feel super solid unfortunately. Gonna try the 50/50 Balance next weekend, see if that’s any different.

I had the exact same problems it’ll think it’s how the lift in the foot beds changes your posture. I swapped in a pair of insoles from a pair of Straye skate shoes. Problems almost completely gone although I did have to toe cut the boot.

Where do I get insoles you tried ?
@wingnut85355 жыл бұрын
i just got a pair of senate sinister liners off ebay for my NJ teams. looks great but they are very tight and almost hurt my arch and other side of the arch of each foot . felt like i was locking onto my grinds tho depite the pressure points. im also with you on the royale groove . if you can DM me give your opinion on what pair to buy next i would appreciate it

I’d give a call to Oak City or Intuition skate shops. They’re the liner experts

This is an interesting conundrum. Maybe the shock doctors are made for ice skates? That may answer some of the jumping issues you seemed to be having at your first test. Like you couldn’t get enough height or something. Really not sure to be honest but this is interesting none-the-less.
@BacktoBlading6 жыл бұрын
They say inline, but you might be right. Maybe they’re designed for use over existing insoles? There’s just zero padding at all. Super weird, thanks for helping me figure it out.

I recommend fp gamechangers, as these mold to the shape of your foot.

Great review law, I had the same issue with those style boots(trs)....the stock liners that came with the point 8’s weren’t cutting it so I bought some blanks. Loved them but something wasn’t right with the insoles. Switched out the blank footbeds and put the stock trs insoles in and, voila, a better feel. Sometimes it’s just about personal preference...
@BacktoBlading6 жыл бұрын
I heard the Blanks are great. Wonder why they didn’t use the same footbeds. I mean, the stock liners are just fine. It’s the high heel, low toe that kills it. Personal preference for sure, that what makes this “best skate” journey so fun. :)
@donavanguevara18064 жыл бұрын
So if I switch out the insoles, this should be a flat rollerblade like the other aggressive inline skates???
@BacktoBlading4 жыл бұрын
It’s still going to be a raised heel, that’s part of the boot. But much less
@donavanguevara18064 жыл бұрын
@@BacktoBlading are all roller blades slightly raised or is it this specific blade?
