Apparently, people no longer know what "childlike" personality traits are. You all interpret things in the worst possible way. Most people didn't think like that in the 1980's. The speaker simply wanted someone who was nice, kind, sweet, playful, with an innocent mind (not a corrupted one), who was mild mannered and easy to get along with, someone who could "go with the flow", instead of someone who wanted to control everything as if they were a parent or an authority figure.
