Sir, i was forced to read 20 books in the year 1963 by my Humanities teacher as part of the course curriculum. I came to know about English authors. That helped me. But today I am 77 years old and now you have tried to impress upon me to read and know about some important books. I think little time has left for me to read in read books. You are a great Teacher and torch bearer.

Dr Sb you should always list the books in your description, as well. I will add them here for others. 1. Animal Farm, George Orwell 2. Pride & Prejudice, Jane Austen 3. War and Peace, Leo Tolstoy 4. Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde PS: Worth clarifying "Farm" IS pronounced with an "r" in America VS England ( and only in the posh English accent)

Thank you Dr. Moeed for the continuation of this series. 2k educated audience by all means outweigh 40k people who are not aware of the facts and nor are willing to do their research. One thing that I would like to suggest you is that this video contains a lot of spoilers like in the cases of Animal farm and The picture of Dorian Gray. This makes it very difficult for one to pursue reading from cover to cover. I request you to contain only the information that can be found on the blurb of a book and try not to give this much insight of the plot. Thank you for your consideration!

I read that book 3 years ago and when exhausted, I finally finished it, I declared it the most amazing book I would never read again. Magical realism is very similar to the kind of stories your grandparents will tell you as a kid. The story of a wealthy family that lost everything, and the one son that had no choice but to keep them all together, it's 100 Years of Solitude.

Dear Dr. Sb. Adding a comment to mainly to support this great initiative. Would like to add that Brave New World is also a criticism of capitalism in the dystopian idiom. It really interesting how 1984 and Brave New World take on such divergent paths in the begining only to coverage in the end. There is a lesson somewhere in there I am sure. One book that should be a part of any list of influential works is "Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad (and any novel by Dostoevsky) . Thank you for taking this excellent initiative. Thank you Dr. Moeed for promoting the culture of reading. Suggestion: A lot of these books are related to the western culture. Perhaps it may be a good idea to suggest books that are from the eastern culture and rich Islamic history. The Muslims had a golden age which produced some great work and scholars. Also a book that I think is really worth reading that my history professor recommended: How to read a book by Mortimer Adler. This is an amazing book on reading techniques etc plus contains a list of classic books that impacted the western culture.
