Mr Hurd. I would love to sincerely thank you for your inspiration to pan for gold, gem hunt and rock hound. My wife and I have been doing a little bit of gem hunting for a few years now. I’ve always wanted to pan for gold. I live up north in New Hampshire and there’s plenty of quarts veins and to my recent knowledge a baker’s dozen of gold mines. So thank you for your charismatic adventures. By far the most fun and knowledgeable Chanel to watch.

Good job Dan !! You proved that just because you are gold mining, does not mean you will find gold every time ! You kept it real like all of your other videos, and that is what keeps us subscribers coming back for more of your content. Good Work !! Lay down a section of galvanized steel fencing, throw a couple old tarps over it, set your rig on top, high bank your material... when you're done, run a length of cable through the fence at the opposite end and use the winch to roll the fence, with the tailings, right back to where it came from.

A zero gold day is all too common. My fellow viewers really need to keep in mind that gold is an extremely rare element and all the best knowledge and equipment won't find it for you. I personally appreciate you taking my on your journeys prospecting for gold and stones. I've become mostly disabled from workplace injuries and neglect from our government and medical system so this is the only way for me to see the wilds I love so much. Please keep it up as long as you can and give the nay sayers no time. I always enjoy the adventure and hope to be able to get out there with you some day

I've found the main gravel bank downstream from the moraines I've been prospecting. It was tricky! The stream goes underground 3 different times. The porosity of the ground is very variable. But just below where I'd stopped from going upstream to downstream, and a little to the side is where the biggest, deepest ravine opens out to the clay flats between the hills and dumps EVERYTHING heavy. It's about 100 feet of gravel, including fist-sized rocks and larger... CLEARLY all glacial till! Any bigger gold MUST be there! Now it's a matter of finding out if it's spread evenly in the jumbled piles of rocks, or has concentrated into lines or pockets in the base clay. I only took one tiny random sample from the top of the gravel, just a few pounds of sediment and rocks, as I'd already filled my buckets with downstream pocket gravels... and there was a significant flake just in that little bit! A very positive sign that I'm close to the best spot.

@@THESLICKNESSEDM yes, of course there is still some out there, but the loads there were in the rush days from thousands of years of wash are incomparable to modern day. Dan earns far more from KZbin than he does prospecting for anything other than BC ocean picture stone, even with all his experience, dedication, and equipment, much of which has feen financed by adsense revenue. There may well be some massive deposits left, but they would be impossible to get approval to access in the modern world. I'm sure there are places in the Fraser that would be really interesting to stick a dredge tube.

those Huge boulders would make an Awesome Boulder-Wall as a landscape feature along a road or unstable bank... would the GOV let you build such things as a "land- improvement" project? at least if you could, you would be able to help control erosion, and also create more usable space for later visitors (not claim jumpers though) and yourself for future use purposes. also, i absolutely LOVE to see the gold you get! definitely a treat every time.
