Four Male Lions close to Kruger Gate followed by two large males - Kruger National Park

The four males were seen together one morning a while ago Marten followed them down River Link from the S1 - Doispan road towards the Sabie River (Kruger Gate side) when suddenly out of nowhere two older larger males charged them and apparently killed the one male.

That young male with the stomach injury is gore nwaswitshaka and he's still alive and well today. These males are now pride males. They have names now, Ahmale (most dominant), Ubuso, Eorenji and Gore (stomach injury) None of them was killed. That's rubbish

This looks like the footage from a month ago when the Birmingham’s chased the n’waswishaka coalition. The last lion waking towards the other three has that old stomach wound. From all footage I saw I was under the impression their was no actual fighting and birminghams chased them away and roared a bit at the end.

This isnt the same incident this was in Kruger south of the Sabie river its likely the 2 older males are the Southern Avocas

ATSGem, this footage was taken early March on the River link road from the S1 Doispane road towards River road heading towards Kruger Gate. We were the only Safari vehicle at that specific time on the loc along with two self drive vehicles. The four younger males fled East and at one point there was lots of fighting. We found three of the males 1,2km from the link road on the S1 later looking very nervous. These guys had been in the area for quite a while but not with the injured guy. We didn’t see him after that until Lockdown started.

These two older males are the Southern Avoca coalition. Nhenha and Tinyo are bigger than the Southern Avocas and Tinyo has wrap around elbow tufts.

Jeeze, that injury on the #4 looks like intestine that's pulled out a bit by that puncture wound. Sorta like a hernia. It would be an easy fix to shove it back in and stitch it up. A shot of antibiotics, and you've saved an adult lion. But I know better.. . They're only "threatened" at this point, so who gives a sheet.

Definitely the N’waswshika boys, the one which is injured was apparently gored by a buffalo, and the dominant 2 males I’d say were the southern avocas for sure. Has anyone seen the 4 boys lately, the injured one definitely looks like he is struggling, heard a while back his injury got infected, any news would be pretty good cheers. Also I know the tsalala female and her cub were apparently seen couple days ago, but is there any photo evidence? It’s all well and good saying she was spotted but with no photos or videos it’s hard to believe. Cheers

The 4 younger males are the Nwaswishaka males, they are currently in Sabi Sands, around Sabi Sabi. Not sure about the older males.

It's an injury from a hunt and it is its stomach, he has survived this way for the few months I've been watching them now but with out proper care he will not survive.

He was apparently punctured by a buffalo. His stomach or intestine has protruded, like a hernia. I believe the fix would be so easy. Push it back in & stitch it up. Shot of antibiotics and an adult male lion will live healthy with his brothers, as he should. Lion numbers are in decline, but no one cares here.

This was not taken in a concession but in The Kruger National Park a 2,4 mil hectare area where the rule is not to interfere with nature if the injury is not caused by man in some way it is left to nature.
