All previously stated is so true. Keep in mind that founder Bob James is a master producer and has the talent to mesh different musicians to bring out a fresh and creative vibe to their performance. The late Grover Washington Jr thrived with him. Having Lee Rittenauer certainly doesn't hurt as well. They are just a talented group of jazz musicians.

After years of testing and collecting vintage stereo equipment, I mostly always find Fourplay in the CD section of thrift stores. When I set up a system to test in the store, Chant is always my go to track, when i find it there. So many people stop by and ask who's the group whose playing this or to compliment the selection of music. Chant is one of my all time favorites.

I saw this group when we lived close to New York City oh my goodness absolutely will blow your mind between the sheets that they sang with Chaka Khan I mean you seriously have no words, Lee Ritenour, Nathan East, Harvey Mason, and Bob James and the reason that Bob James stands out so much is that he has a musical instrumental tribute to song because I am from Ireland and it's called Women of Ireland and in Gaelic it means Mna it's amazing to hear this music I mean you don't even have to sing just listening to it you will get hooked like a drug
