Watched all your videos, good work. Back in 1975 my first car was 65 Mustang, notch-back similar to yours (paid only $250... lawn mowing earnings). As a dirt-bike riding teenager with a heavy-petal-foot... I quickly blew-out the main-bearing of the tired-old...leaky 298. The first owner was a US military pilot (like I later became)... so 2 lead-foots drove that engine into the ground. In 1975 I put a "new" 302 Mercury Cruiser boat engine which was still on the factory skid... but salvaged/ damaged in transit... only $300 new... long story... I digress. Hence, I like your videos. I like the wheels on your 65 (those are correct, approved in my book). Love all the sleeper-mods work you have done to it. Request; would love to see you do a low-budget paint job the 65 in a similar green... in a matt/satin finish. I found your color on a different car... Google these words... " Stone Green Pearl Metal Satin ". I think that's the right "hue" you have now... and it works. Again... just a working-man's affordable paint job.

Although not my first car, I still own my 93 Calypso notchback I bought in 1995 right after college. was 10K then, 35k miles on it. been through a lot, now setup for oepn track with a Griggs Racing and Maximum Motorsports stuff and a nice 331. it's been through a lot, as have I. I'm glad I kept it, strange how attached we get to things as well as people(and pets!). I vote keep it if you can. If you cannot, the memories will grow sweeter with time. you will be able to move to something else but you wont replace it.

I like the upgrades you made. I still prefer the carburator for my 68 Mustang but this is only because I do not otherwise. After stroking the motor, the car had from one moment to the other about 40 hp more than previously. I did not change the rear axle so it is pretty fast on the first yards after the traffic light turns green. 😀 Now it is more a cruiser than it was before, and I like that. I am completely happy with the magna flow exhaust I put on her.

Thats what Mopar did in there torque flites . from factory. i did put a 8inch back in. as a borg warner was install. put a 4 barrel unit on the engine. which i added . i could cruise at 50mph. put my foot down, kicks down and spin those tyers . Buy one of the Novas in your B-roll. :) The Nova is the perfect contrast to that Mustang without the high cost of a first or second gen Camaro. As a SoCal kid myself I daily drove my first Nova for 15 years. (Granada Hills) Now as a 40 year old I have another Nova and a Mustang and it remarkable how each car gives me joy in different ways. My current mustang is a Shelby GT500 but I hope to sell it and buy another '68 to build. Before I bought the Shelby, I had a '68 Mustang with a 347 and a 5 speed. :) All we need in life for happiness is a good family, a reliable car and two project cars. :) G/L Thanks for the videos.

Personally, I'd like to see you put a carby back on the 302 and use Thunderhead289's Carb Cheater instead. I reckon it's better, it solves the problems of carbies being a static metering unit while keeping the sound, feel/tactile experience, etc. Still has a rev limiter, ignition lock, data logging and requires no wires to pass through the firewall. 4 wires and 2 vacuum hoses plugged into the supplied spacer. I'm sure you've seen Luke's lawn mower carb & skyram intake videos haha!
