WOW, Lots of fish. A beaver for a neighbor. A live morning Loon wake alarm. Sounds rough. What an adventure. Also your cinematography is really great. My first ever solo trip next week. Only 3 days. But I'm just getting my feet wet. Mainly will be targeting Lake Trout and Walleye. I enjoyed this one as always. Btw do just wear hiking boots on the portages and let them get wet and try to dry them in camp? Thanks Mik
@CommonManCamps-dz6ur3 ай бұрын
Hey thanks👍 I just let my boots/shoes just get wet. I try to let them dry but I know I’m just going to get them wet again. Then I pack camp shoes and socks that stay dry. Enjoy your solo adventure. Can’t wait to see the video. I haven’t had much time to watch KZbin this summer just so busy going on trips my self and love it. Be safe and have fun

Oh man, what fell out of your boat at the first portage? A Nalgene bottle? Great video! Thank you for these videos. I've learned a LOT from you before my trip. Again, thank you! Any tips on fishing for Walleye? Since this is my first trip, I'll take any advice you're willing to give.

Ha, yes it was. Luckily it was my first portage and saw it when I came back for my second load. Thanks for watching!

I was just looking at comments and just realized I never answered you fishing tips question. I’m so sorry. Hope your first trip was fun. How did it go? Where did you go?

I enjoy watching your videos. I come to Ely every year with my bass boat, first week of June, but I am ready to take it to the next level. Planning a trip into the boundary waters next year. I am not familiar with canoes what brand & model do you have? It looks fairly lightweight and seems to have held up pretty well, for as many trips as you’ve taken. Thanks for your time and any advice would be welcome

Thanks 👍 I have a NorthStar canoe,north winds solo. I love it. I would maybe rent a canoe and any gear you may need to make sure it’s something you enjoy before investing a lot of money. I personally love fishing out of a canoe but it’s not for everyone. If you go on a trip next year, I’d love to hear how it goes. Good luck and thanks again for watching.

Nice video! I wanted to ask if you're using a fish finder on your canoe? Also wondering what would work best set up wise. Thinking 1/4 oz jig with small bait fish/minnow. What size hooks would you use? Thank you!
@CommonManCamps-dz6ur3 ай бұрын
Thanks much appreciate 👍 I don’t have a fish finder. I have a real old portable fishfinder from like 2000 that I have but don’t bring. I use 1/8 oz walking weight with a real small split shot to make a Lindy rig with leeches. I’m not sure the size but a small hook floating jig heads or a spinner that has a small hook. Sorry not sure what number of hook. Hope that answered your questions

When you say use the map for fishing do you mean just a map of the lake or the actual depth chart map of the lake
@CommonManCamps-dz6ur3 ай бұрын
I use just the map. It shows depth contours of some of the lakes. I can use my gps if I try and fish a certain depth. Getting a more detailed lake map would be nicer than the regular maps for navigating. I just get a line in the water and hope for the best. Thanks for watching 👍

Your KZbin channel is very good but SEO is not complete on your KZbin channel. If you complete perfect SEO(Search Engine Optimization) then your channel views will double.
