This was my favorite comment. I kept clicking back to hear it again. To the negative comment you received on here...Bill...I wish it was actually possible...to do an experiment...where they take the same exact child...and put it with 3 different kinds of parents...and grow up in 3 different kinds of atmospheres....and see how and what kind of person that child grows up into under 3 different kinds of scenarios. I am who I am today because of how I grew up. If I had had different parents with different views, political and religious, or if they had been poorer or richer, if I had lived in California instead of a farming town in Missouri...you can't argue that I wouldn't be a different person. You are being formed into the adult you will be from the moment you are born. From your parents..the economics you are raised in, the teachers and schools you attend are strongly determined on where you live, the friends you have, etc. That girl doesn't sound ungrateful...she sounds strong... that because no matter how hard life has been for her...she is determined to become better. And hopefully she will pass that down to her children and they will be better.

They remind me of me...when I started college I was homeless, living in my car. I would shower at the gym before class and do my homework at the public library. Now I'm 2 semesters away from a chemistry degree, I have a 4.0 GPA and I scored a place in the honor society. I just want to say that I really think it’s fantastic that this program exists at all, to award local kids who really want to work in the hospitality industry there.
