Foxbody Mustang Terminator X Install + First Start Tips

I got around to installing the Holley Terminator X EFI management system on to project Stormtrooper ('89 Mustang GT). It was a really fun project, and I tried to capture as much of the basic things you'll need to know when installing this kit. Hope you enjoy!

Did the terminator kit come with the fuel pressure and oil pressure sensors and wiring or is that something you added yourself?

The kit came with the harness ready to go, but I had to buy the sensors separate. I used low dollar motorsports sensors and they work great with no additional programming.

@@eneboracingchannel Don’t get me started on the EPA lol. This is what happened to the Terminator X for the Foxbody. That’s why they discontinued it out of the blue. You can buy the other kit that’s just for the ford and then have to buy a couple other pieces. All because the EPA!!! Maybe when someone is out of the WH we can actually get our freedoms back

Maybe this is what’s wrong with mines it won’t idle.. but this is after I found out my rock auto distributor wouldn’t fire so I washed my plugs I’ll throw in some new plugs and try her again

After you hit oem for injectors did it ask for what size? I have 36lb super coupe injectors and wanna know what I need to do!

Yes I believe it did. I can’t quite remember, but I feel like I remember seeing 19’s, 24lb, and 30lb, but not sure if I remember seeing 36…

hey man can you tell me about that fused power distributon box you have under the passenger side dash? I bought something similar with the intention of wiring up some gauges. What all do you have wired to that box? I am getting ready to to install the holley terminator x gen 2 on my fox. hoping it will be a little easier to wire the sensors. Thanks. great job by the way.

Yea, no problem! I wanted to make a panel that had 12V while cranking for the Holley, and so I have a large relay that is triggered from the fuse box on a circuit that supplies 12v while cranking. The relay then sends power to the panel I have and it powers my Holley, gauges, electric fan controller, and my MAC valve for boost control. The little box just needs to be grounded, and the power comes in from the relay I wired in. Basically, instead of trying to find different wires to tap into for all your accessories you want to add, I just used one circuit from the fuse box to trigger a relay that I sends 12V to the box straight from the battery.

This is the Foxbody’s specific kit. I installed it back in 2021. I still had to pick up some sensors and other odds and ends, but it came with almost everything.

That red 12v wire that you connected to the fuse box... wasn't the red/white wire suppose to go to that?

The red 12v wire you see going to the fuse box in the video is a tap a circuit that triggers a relay that sends power to another fuse box I built, that supplies multiple sources with a 12V switched power while cranking signal. I have the red/white wire connected to that. If you add me on insta I can send you a video. 👍

I do have a question if you could help out. When you take the green fuel trigger wire and hook into the pink with black strip wire. Once you turn the key does your fuel pump instantly prime. I did the upgrade that Dan from neo mustang did on fuel pump and now I don't hear my new pump priming on key cycle. It works if I put 12v straight to it. Thanks

@@joshuaanderson8869 I did not do the fuel upgrade that you are talking about, but the fuel pump won’t prime until you go through the calibration in the ECU. For instance when you initially turn the key on, the fuel pump didn’t prime, but after you laid the tune and cycle the key, it will prime on key cycle from then on. Have you uploaded the tune/gone through the wizard yet?

@@eneboracingchannel I have not did the tune yet. I installed the terminator x and on3 turbo all together. Not hearing the fuel pump kick on with key cycle got me chasing ghost than probably. I didn't realize you would have to get the ecu setup first. Makes sense now. I'm waiting on a new laptop to come on. Since I need windows 10. I had bought a base line tune from anderson motorsports since I have the turbo installed. Thank you man. Much appreciated 🙏

@@joshuaanderson8869 Excellent. I purchased a tune through Anderson as well, and it helped, but I am working with a guy remotely, and he has helped way more, and ITS FREE! But yea, until you run the wizard, I r upload a tune, the terminator is a blank box that has power.

All functions as normal. Stock fuse box too. It does not affect those systems.

You can buy a kit that is for a “Ford”, but the foxbody specific kits are not longer sold by Holley. The Ford kits can be modified to work with the Ford IAC valve, and it is simple to do that. Otherwise, you’d use a GM style IAC which work too.

So I’m trying to wire up the ignition coil and I’m wondering how to wire up that white wire and how do I wire up the positive side of the coil even tho you explained it I kinda wanted to get a look of how you did it

Yea, so I traced the factory wires for both positive and negative and just extended the wires to the coil, and I spliced in the white wire from the Holley into the connector for the negative side of the coil. Holley EFI 550-937F I believe. I do not know if they offer this exact kit anymore. I see the Holley EFI 550-937 but then you have to buy the TFI adapter harness which is part #558-305
