yeah, the thunder bolt look wasn't intentional, but that was the best i could come up with with the materials i had available. I've been collecting parts for this for almost a year.

What about putting a slightly tinted lens infront of 1 of each of the tail/brake light strips.. or a single of each pair, i should say.. and then wiring the non-covered strips to act as just brake light?

This was my original idea, i didn't go that route because i couldn't find any LED's that function as running lights and brake lights, and the ones I ended up using couldn't be wired independently. If it wasn't for that challenge, you would have seen custom tales on this car a LONG time ago. I've been piecing this thing together for almost a year, and what i have is a result of what i could het my hands on. A little annoying, but the yellow strips i used have a good cool factor I guess.

Been watching your vids and you're making me want to get another fox, I havent had one in 8yrs. I never got around to doing cool stuff I needed to put money into "boring" resto type stuff. I still have my old cheese grater tails I used to want to retrofit them for fun with the electronics/LED skills I've learned since Ive gotten rid of the Mustang... but I don't have a Mustang to put them on. For the brake lights have you looked into a PWM? It will dim the LEDs in running mode and go to full brightness when the brake is pressed. But in your case and (maybe if I ever did it) I'd just run the stock bulb for the brakes, Ive seen BMWs and stuff with the fancy strip taillights then brake mode is just another bulb behind it.

There are a few different things i could have done for brake lights, i just wint the quickest route. It took me about 10 min to slap those LED's in there. IDK what a PWM is though.

I went and found this, you used to have to cobble a PWM setup all together with clunky stuff that people found on ebay... kzbin.info/www/bejne/mn_Zp5-OnZ6bl7c One thing I'm afraid of is depending on what grade of LEDs they put in those panels the lo/hi difference might not be that noticeable... but two of those PWMs are only $10 so it might be worth a shot. www.diodedynamics.com/2a-led-pwm-dimmer-with-bypass-pair.html
