It's the same thing at the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldiers in Washington DC. You can't talk kids can't cry or jump around or the guards will give them 1 warning and if they gotta say it again 2 more guards will personally escort you off the property period no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

As a Canadian, I respect your flag, your anthem, your constitution, and most of all your active duty forces, veterans, especially your wounded, and your fallen. You are our greatest of allies, I will happily pause what I am doing to show respect to all the above. Why? I know that Americans (and many of our allies) have fallen to help keep our nation safe as well. Respect cousins, you've earned it.

This video alone proves that this woman wants to make it all about her, not the fallen soldier. The protocol is for silence.

Thank you very much for the sentiment ma’am. The honor is for the fallen. His buddy would have felt weird, is all. The honor is all for the young soldier. Thank you again for the sentiment. God bless the USA, you, and yours.

Wrong for the media to acknowledge this women It’s about the veterans and policy silence is all needed to been spoken for us all to know, that never new. They could’ve just made that the point not to distract from the actual veteran himself Shame on reporters

What does “somber” mean. It means silent reverence. When transporting a fallen soldier you are not supposed to sing. Sometimes our heart is in the right place but we don’t know the proper etiquette.
@pennypackmtb25424 жыл бұрын
Not only should you be aloud to sing in honor of our heroes, but those who have served should be aloud to stand a salute their brother.

horrible reporting, how about letting her finish a thought without cutting her off. Now, not only did Delta screw up, but so did the newscaster. Just desserts would be another station asking the good doctor how she felt about being interrupted by the newscaster. God bless America

When I worked for a major [now forgotten] airline, we knew that you stopped everything and stood in silent respect for the fallen. I had airline reps screaming at me to hurry it along, until I stood right before their boss and told him that under NO circumstances would I be a party to the disrespect of ANY fallen military person. It never really took more than 5 or 10 minutes to transfer the remains, and if they didn't like the way I handled it, they could fire me on the spot. I worked for that airline for another 5 years, right until they shut the doors for the last time. Imagine if that was your father, son, brother, mother, sister, or daughter. They gave their life, you can spare a few moments out of yours to respect them for it. I guarantee, it won't cost you anything.

Talking yes singing no.. If you watch the video that shows what Delta does for its fallen soldier it even has music.. The family of this fallen soldier loved the idea and even contacted this women to thank her for trying. She could have picked a better song but at least the idea came from her heart and was not forced by their boss like the other people waiting for the soldier to come out of the plane.. She tried todo a wonderful thing and that's what matters.

No, singing is not customary for a dignified transfer.

The singing is dubbed on the freaking video, not played during the actual event while the casket is transferred🙄

To be honest when something sad such as a terrorist attack happen then you are suppose to be silent to respect them it’s same for the fallen soldiers and Memorial Day for the fallen in WW 1 and 2 in my school

Her heart is in the right place but with a dignified transport its best to remain silent. As a service member who partook in many of these on deployment you are to remain silent

I have been on several flights where soldiers were escorted home, and the entire plane stopped to watch the casket being loaded and unloaded from cargo. On the disembarkment from the cabin on one flight everyone began singing the National Anthem as we left the plane once we reached the tarmac (this was long before all exiting planes directly into the terminal). It was a beautiful and respectful moment that had many in tears.

It is the intention of this woman to have respect for the soldier. I have respect for her intention. It came out of her hart. It had been wrong if she knew how to handle correct. I would have sing with her. And afterwards learn that it had to be different. Thats all. She is just another mother with feelings. Why criticice her???? Ask the parents of the soldier.
