Narrowboat life gets complicated as we get trapped on the Trent & Mersey Canal on our journey across Britain by Narrowboat.
First, we head to Church Lawton moorings where narrowboat Silver Fox stays for a few nights while Shaun heads off to Yorkshire. Then we go backward and forwards a few times before heading for Harecastle Tunnel. That's where it all went a bit Pete Tong 😕

Well I’ve run out of superlatives for you guys! This has to be the most entertaining 18.45 I’ve watched for a very long time. And watching that epic reverse journey ... well I struggled reversing anywhere on my boat . Even over the shortest distance I always felt that the bloody boat was bin charge so well impressed. And a cliff hanger at the end too!!!!!

Honestly, if each episode was 30 to 45 minutes I wouldn't mind. I love watching you guys going about your day. Maybe a few extra minutes of quiet time just watching the scenery go by or a 5 minute time laps when you're going through an urban area or a long stretch backtracking could be fun filler. I'll never be on a boat so everything you show is enjoyable.

On the way to work this morning, I thought to myself, 'It's Friday. Another update from Foxes Afloat!!!'. I'm glad Shaun's eye healed. As far as swearing goes, he's a sailor. As a new subscriber I’m really loving these vlogs. It’s the quality narration combined with the humour and excellent and varied photography that make them so good. Keeping everybody in suspenders also helps! 😳🥴😉🤗 Regarding advice on where, or where not, to moor; I would imagine most people’s advice will be regarding the high season during the summer months when evenings are warmer and more kids are out looking for things to “do”! On cold, dark, wet November evenings most ‘ne’er do wells’ will be at home on their X boxes etc. Just something to consider. 🙂

If you come down the Trent n Mersey. Be sure to stop at the clock tower pub in shardlow. The water right Infront of it needs a good dredge though so stop above the locks! Fantastic village for a walk around, and some food! Willington a little further up, at Mercia is nice too...

Hi Guys - The aerial pictures are stunning they really show the route of the old staircase locks - I loved Shaun's 23 point turn - Have you ever thought of fitting a bigger engine to Silver Fox and turning it into Silver Fox GT - It has a certain "ring" to it. Shaun sporting his Christmas Onesie ! ;) I loved the jazz music in this one, I also found the folding down of your pram useful, these small details add to your presentation. Who can't help but want to learn more about Canal history, your research is so very much appreciated. I think we were seeing the old right of way from the former but now extinct, staircase locks as seen in the drone footage. I'm wondering . . . when you were reversing 1 1/2 miles, were you using your Bow Thruster for steering? Who shot J.R. . . . hilarious one liner and has us all waiting with baited breath . . . just what really happened in Haircastle Tunnel, were your lucky pants fully broken in, did Shaun snag his Chunky Jumper, did Dillion fall in, was some poor soul murdered with a windlass . . .
