We’ve already hit our snow annual average per winter before January even came here in Northeast Ohio. All in December with the crazy lake-effect snow systems that passed over this area and many of the communities within the Lake Erie area. So we average about 60-70 inches in my general area. We got all that in December between 2 systems. Now if you go 30 minutes east - they average about 100 inches. That’s how drastically different weather can change and vary in these areas. If you go 1 hour south, they don’t get any lake effect snow and average just 30 inches or so. The rest of the state is lagging in snow so far. This weekends system is supposed to hit the southern portion of the state a lot harder than the rest… so for snow lovers in Ohio, specifically central and southern Ohio, get ready!! ❄️ ❄️

Ice is the biggest concern, not the snow. Loss of power in the single digits is brutal, especially if you don't have a back-up generator. Snow can be plowed. Ice is a bit trickier, and most often leads to downed lines and falling trees. I remember the '09 ice storm, millions were without power for weeks.
