Tay Sonic lies she wrote “broken silence” and “ill na na 2: the Fever” COMPLETELY BY HERSELF! “Chyna Doll” and “Ill Na Na” were CO-written with Jay Z nothing completely written by him. Give credit where it’s due

@@darriuswyche2392 Jay helped with I Can’t, Hot Spot and Bonnie & Clyde (which he was on.) He didn’t co-write, she wrote nearly all of that album and executive produced it. Ill Na Na is the only co-written one.

Lyrically? Her writing is the most proficient, precise and technically skilled it’s ever been on any of her albums. Flow wise? By far her most versatile with her flow. She showed it had no limits. And by using her natural tone she pushed her delivery. And it stuck because after that female rappers started and are now using their natural voices to rap versus inflections based off the men. Y’all sleep

+aj Iacuzzo Like she said, Female rappers have notoriously short shelf-lifes, especially if they don't really branch out and do other things. That's the main reason Kim, Missy, and Eve were able to come back out recently with new albums/music--They weren't just focused on rap back then, whereas Foxy was, in addition to her personal & legal troubles. Sad, really, but at least she had her run.

Aaron Degley foxy was the first one to branch out and do other things like Fashion and starting her own entertainment company Ill Nana entertainment
@aarondegley9577
@aarondegley9577 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, the fashion part is true, but Ill Nana Entertainment encompassed the typical rap boutique label that damn near all at-least-platinum-selling rappers had back then, so that doesn't count as 'branching out (event though I'm sure you're going to mention the fur label Foxy had).' But my point still stands--Foxy's main focus was on rap (and her various personal & legal issues), while the other three female rappers I mentioned really branched out (not to mention Missy was an in-demand/successful R&B songwriter & producer [working closely w/Timbaland, as I'm sure you know] the same time she was rapping, so her 'branching out' includes songwriting royalties).

+LD1FB I disagree, Jay went No3 on Billboard with In My Lifetime and No1 with Hard Knock Life the year after, so going commercial was paying big during that period (even though many hiphop fans were dissing that glossy sound). Foxy was just jumping on the bandwagon and it paid off for her (albeit briefly).
@LD1FB
@LD1FB 8 жыл бұрын
Umm, no... She was trying to sound like Kim. She stole her ad-libs and everything! That "uh-huh", was Kim's. And that's why at the beginning of Hot spot she says "Guess who's back". It was a subliminal shot at Kim. And that's why at the end of Play Around Diddy says "Stop tryna sound like her too chickens". And why on Number 1 Kim says "Your so called vendetta was light like bird feathers". Fox's vendetta was her sounding like Kim. She could've still made commercial songs sounding like herself. Commercial has nothing to do with the voice -- It's the material.
