I have been really impressed with the rigidity of the xps foam for my cap232. it's much more stiff than epp. after spars, some strap tape and laminate is crazy strong. I'm sure on a hard hit it would snap, but great for the price.

The XPS foam I found was $10 more expensive and had a bunch of slits for cutting it into strips easier or something. The EPS foam comes in low density and high density. I went with the big high density EPS. But now that I think about it maybe the XPS still would have been better because It's a bit lighter.

+MostlyHarmlessRC airfoils are optimized shapes. And this plane has a terrible aspect ratio, but that's not too bad because the wing loading is so small.
