I will always pray for Fr. Corapi. He always gave us the truth. The good, bad, and ugly. The "hierarchy" wanted him out. He was gone in 3 wks. It shows how much corruption in the church. Well, they will have to answer before God too. TRUTH BE TOLD!

I don't care what anybody says' his preaching was authentic, he preached the truth! No one is perfect, but Fr Corapi preached the truth and I'm sure he was instrumental in converting many. Why should we destroy all the good he's done by judging him. God said "judge not lest you be judged".
@michaelcaza-schonberger92828 жыл бұрын
Learn to take Scripture in context. God never said not to judge, but not to make hypocritical judgements. Matthew 7:1-5 is quite clear: “Stop judging, so that you may not be judged. For with the judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the beam in your own eye? Or how will you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and look, the beam is in your own eye? Hypocrite, first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye." We are to be careful when we judge a brother or sister to make sure we are not guilty of the same thing we judge them on. So often we see the speck in someone else's eyes, and so often we don't see the plank in our eye that is equally as sinful. Later on in Matthew 7, Yeshua tells us to judge someone by their fruits. In Matthew 18, again we are told that the church is to judge, and in 1 Cor. 5:9-13 we are taught that we the saints (I know you catholics don't use the term saints about all Christians, but the Bible does) are to judge inside the church and not outside the church!

I think there is also the psychological fact that when we judge another, by the very fact of that, we are making a statement about ourselves. We are exposing our own values and beliefs; so, our own house must, therefore, be in order. May God bless Fr. Corapi!

Three years ago the 44 yr-old son of a friend of mine died and I was asked to help clean out his things and give his clothes to the poor, etc. In his garage I came across two large caches of pornographic magazines. @mufc1970ok I bought Fr. Corapi's The Catechism of the Catholic Church DVDs. His talk about confession helped me quit smoking. Fr. Corapi said that even smoking (by definition of what a mortal sin is - grave matter (smoking kills), full knowledge ("the surgeon general says ..."), full consent (how many times do you smoke in a day?) is a mortal sin. Whoever commits sin, becomes a slave to sin ! With the help of a priest friend who offered mass for me, i was freed from the chain of smoking !

Humanae vitae pierced the human conscience in people, they wanted convenience, but ended up being told to regulate their sex life. Many didn't like it, and might have pressured the bishops against it. Remind ppl about it if you have the courage, they'll most likely run you out of town or get the bishop to ship you to a monastery. The pleasure and satisfaction you feel is dependent on the love you have. Lust can never increase love.

@epicent What makes the Catholic Church so sick is that instead of calling the police and warning parents, the hierarchy engaged in cover up after cover up. I've seen scandal in churches, and I've seen the perpetrators get the boot right into jail. The Catholic Church is unique in their cavalier attitude toward this horrendus crime against children. @TheCannonofMohammed As G.K. Chesterton aptly put it, "Don't you see that we're all in the same boat? Yes, and we're all jolly sea-sick." We will not find a perfect person, a perfect institution, a perfect society, a perfect anything. We're fools to expect to find it on earth. But Jesus Christ sat among the fools, founded His Church on them; one betrayed Him, one denied Him, nine abandoned Him, one was left... But the Church still exists! How? Look up Matthew 16:18 for the answer. God bless you.

@dognruth No one is throwing stones, but, priests who have been led astray and are not doing their job should not be catered to, as they have been. Many of us wander from parish to parish for daily Mass, avoiding the really bad ones. Sitting through a homily being called sinful and bad b/c we aren't "marching" against AZ b/c of their law: I will not tolerate it any more.
@tjttzcspplt14 жыл бұрын
@dognruth I don't judge them for personal weakness, but, for promoting what is wrong, and actively opposing people who are trying to live the way they are supposed to. Purporting their silly political views giving them the authority of the Church when it doesn't and using the captive audience of Massgoers to shove it down our throats. I resent that very much.

This is nothing about that, so I guess they rather talk about other things.

I see nothing holy about this priest. "Some servicemen just take up oxygen" may be so, but it sounds as he'd prefer they are/were aborted. "You have to go to mass, to be in a state of grace." Only God knows what is in a persons heart. My feeling is that the Church could be taken from us, but they can't take away my faith.
@Thomas31416113 жыл бұрын
He criticized God's bishops and spoke as if he were better then they. This was a great offense against God. We pray for our clergy and hold them up to Jesus Christ. In this way all are uplifted. All power & authority comes from God. Few remember this today. The Lord established His Church with a hierarchy. Everyone goes off in their own direction. Imagine a bunch of people rowing a boat with no common direction each impeding another. We have to row the boat together to get to Heaven.
