Fr. Stu was our Priest, and my friend in the two years he spent in Anaconda, MT. We watched him get weaker and weaker, but he never lost his enthusiasm for Jesus and all of us. He was so fond of the children, and was very special to my parents, especially my mom. I remember him telling me he had to leave and go into a nursing home. He had tears in his eyes and said he didn't want to leave. But he could no longer offer Mass because he couldn't lift his chalice. He was heartbroken. Yet he continued bringing his love for others in the nursing home, and helped everyone ge could. I sure miss him...✝️

I'm 50 and coincidently have just come to this point in my life. About the same time, I found Ascention and Father Mike, and then Bishop Barron, and now I'm feeling the pull towards Catholicism ❤️. I have felt the weight of my suffering lift, completely transformed. I now see it's purpose as my own redemptive grace. Cerebrally I always knew it, but now I truly understand it on a deep level. It's liberating and humbling and joyous at the same time. Blessings to all who are still suffering and on the path to accepting and understanding their own redemption, and how that works, by grace, for you and others eternal souls 🙏❤️

I’m 35 (will be in June anyway) and I’m in the same boat. I’ve been feeling led to Catholicism as well. My grandmother is more upset about it than when I came out. (Ironically interesting.) That said, I hope you find God as you need to. I hope I do the same. What I’ve been aware of lately is that I am again aware of his presence. I sense a disconnect. I want to fix that and I want to change what needs to be changed in my life. One thing that’s difficult for me is reconciling with the Bible. Which I’ve been reading fairly regularly. When I was 19 and realized my same sex attraction had a meaning/label. It caused me to consider that the Bible perhaps wasn’t God’s word. Yet, I’ve never stopped believe I’m God. So, I’m trying to place my faith back in what I read. Reconnect with Jesus and have him be real to me again. I’m different, I’m meant to be different, and I’m meant to do something with my difference. I think I just need to get out of my way is all. Wish that God would present a divine act or vision. But for now, I’m trying to listen and decipher what’s the Holy Spirit or my own self being critical.

“He didn’t come to relieve our suffering but to redeem it…to transform it “ Thank you Father Mike for explaining this so beautifully! On the Cross, Our Lord said “I thirst.” He thirsted not for water or vinegar….He thirsted for souls! Especially the ones lost, the broken, the hard-hearted, the sinners. Jesus THIRSTS for all souls….as He gives His life to redeem all. Come to Him. Come to the foot of the Cross, all that feel broken and undeserving of Christ’s love and mercy…He is crucified for you, and for all mankind that all mankind may be reconciled to the Father. Come to the foot of the Cross all who are weak and weary…the hopeless and ashamed. Our Crucified Lord LOVES you…He rejoices in gathering His “lost sheep.” Be not afraid, for His sacrifice is for ALL. Absolute love and mercy are offered by Him for all! Ad Pedum Crucem A mercifully redeemed woman

I loved the film. 7 of my friends and I went to the movie theater with the intention of supporting our Catholic faith and the idea of it being in the big screen from a real perspective. Watching this movie was definitely life changing since it portrays a new way of looking at the faith. It is common among us the youth, to look at it with a "rule-following" or "very strict" lense. However, Mark Wahlberg on his Father Stu act, shows the faith in a more personal and tangible way. In a way that involves fraternity, having fun, playing basketball with friends, forgiving those that we... you know... wanna punch in the face. Waiting for more movies like this!

GOD does not Bless blindness!! Matthew 12:36-37 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of JUDGEMENT for every word they have spoken. For by your words you will be Acquitted, and by your words you will be Condemned. Matthew 15:10-11 Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, "Listen and understand. What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them." If you are a Catholic, are you prepared to sit & listen to foul, offensive language, knowing that goes against Bible Teaching & deeply offends JESUS! Are you prepared to sit & watch actors Condemning themselves with their mouths. They are going to be JUDGED for all that comes from their mouth - Mel Gibson & Mark Wahlberg as Catholics will be held accountable for Condemning themselves & other actors, by making them voice obscene, foul language from their mouth. Exactly as JESUS WARNS not to do.

@@josephinebcmpatrick9207 God bless you for your witness to Christ’s words. However, I believe the whole passage in Matthew from 10-20 explicates His meaning more fully. In the end, it is the intention coming forth from our heart that matters. The actors, in my opinion are not intending to blaspheme God, but perhaps (I have not yet seen the movie) to tell a tale of redemption. Yes, the bad words are coming out of the mouths, but bad words (intentions) are not coming out of their hearts.

COM 4 weeks later I kept on getting earnings and I started using the m0ney for G0ds wOrk. I am very popular in Maryland. Doing Gods work always give me joy. There is peace and joy in my mind. I am here to motivate you and tell you never to give up even though the situation seems so though, God has promised his children and he will surely d0 what he has promised his children.

Thank you Father Mike! It’s critical for us to share that the Christian Faith is not an easy walk. When we live with open hands we commit to the possibility that life may take things from our hands, things that we’d like to keep. And, it also comes with the possibility that life may drop something into our hands that we never ever wanted. Living with open hands requires a dedicated faith - trusting and relying upon Jesus as our first and last resource in all of Life’s circumstances. Praying the power of film stirs the hearts, minds and spirits of all who are courageously willing to journey down the path of Love, Grace & Mercy.

I noticed that Mark didn’t hear your point of the bench scene (he thought you were just talking about Carmen) and I, like you even enjoyed that silly scene.

It is not for children but it will touch their souls too. I remember being 13 (doesn't sound like it but i was very innocent at that age, I'm now 30) and going to the movies with my mom to see the Passion, I was too young to be let in, so my mom got tickets for peter pan and we snuck into the Passion. I remember we sat at the first row on the very end, right by the entrance... I remember that being the first time I was able to dimension what Our Lord had done for us. I was clear on how the movie was not even close to the reality of his suffering but it gave me an idea so that my poor human brain could imagine and be thankful for it. I'm so grateful for that moment and i'm sure this movie could be good for a younger audience the same way

Well he did (come to heal) actually. Jesus is the great healer and nothing is impossible to God. God has miraculously healed me and kept me safe. I am so thankful. I think it’s vitally important that wherever we can, to give thanks and never forget to. The cross can be denying pride which prevents you from giving thanks. The cross is something you ultimately focus on the end product of resurrecting and conquering (as much as possible), where you have faith. So yes thank you for the movie Mr Wahlberg. Thanks 🙏 for working together to produce this too. Great work.(:

This movie is so moving and I could really relate! 😊 It brought tears to my eyes. 😢 My husband and I lost our 2nd child, 1st boy, newborn baby Zac from placenta abruption when I was going to the hospital to have our baby at 38 weeks pregnant with only somewhat high blood pressure in 2015. Everything else looked good. When he passed after 4 days, we were so devastated and my 2 year old daughter, Natalie, at the time, couldn't really comprehend luckily, but she knows about her sweet Angel brother Zac in heaven. We talk about him often and celebrate his birthdays. Now we have another son, Brady (yes, after Tom Brady of Patriots!! We live in New England! Just like Mark! We still like Tom, even though he's at Tampa Bay😂). Brady was born a few weeks early with a very rare Genetic Syndrome TARP. He wasn't supposed to live past 2. He's now 5 and thriving. We have definitely suffered a lot. I have gotten closer to God. My husband, not so much so I'm hoping this movie will help him. We're both doing great overall. TARP syndrome makes it so Our sweet, happy Brady has Respiratory issues, low muscle tone, can't crawl, we repaired the hole on his heart, he feeds through a Gtube, can't talk yet, but has improved greatly. He loves people, smiles a lot, laughs, rolls, loves tummy time. He only needs the Vent at night now w/o oxygen. He even overcame COVID this past January, we all did and just stayed on Vent more for 3 days. Thank you Mark and everyone for making this Movie!! It's really uplifting and makes you realize Suffering does make you a better person and stronger. Our daughter, now 8, is such a sweetie and more sympathetic then most kids her age.

The verses surrounding Jesus saying you must take up your cross [daily] and follow me talk about His Passion and he who gives his life for His sake will find it and those who wish to keep their life will lose it. And so it's good to know our life won't end in death but will end in life through death as Fr Mike so well puts it.
