I started using Dua about 10 months ago,primarily to find scents that were discontinued. I've got to say they have more than exceeded expectations, covet(gucci envy)pour homme(D&G by man) are amazing but I don't think they get enough credit for there own creations also.Wood and cognac is amazing.personally there is something for everyone so I'd highly recommend trying them out.Great channel Chris!

First of all, I want to say I’m newly subscribed (even though I thought I was already subbed lol). Second, I’ve seen quite a few interviews of creators of perfume houses. I can honestly say this interview was, BY FAR, my favorite. The questions were spot on, the responses seemed very sincere, and Mahsam’s was very respectful. His explanation on his vision for Dua was very passionate. Giving the average person the opportunity to experience fragrances that most of us will never be able to smell is incredible. I have, recently, started purchasing Dua fragrances. I really like the scents that I’ve received so far. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of the scents have been great. Additionally, ordering Dua fragrances has been OUTSTANDING. The staff has been very helpful. Every time I email a customer service representative, I ALWAYS get an immediate response, plus I’m ALWAYS taken care of right then and there. I’d like to wish Frag-Mental and Dua all the best. By the way, thanks for squeezing Mr. Smelly in at the end. Lol. Holla.

What an innovative microphone idea!! Some very pertinent questions Chris and some excellent responses from Sam. By bringing interpretations of exclusives to the masses, you're spreading awareness of the originals - and any press is usually good press. I have purchased 4 DUA frags. To be honest, I think they smell good and 1 of them great. However, I had a bad customer experience when I received a leaked bottle. It takes 2 1/2 week to get the order, then if there's a problem another 3 weeks before you've made enough racket to get a reaction. I sure hope this is resolved soon. I will let you know as a public service, so you can know what to expect- should you have to deal with a damaged or leaking bottle. Matt Williams Toledo, Ohio

I recently ordered Tabac 28 by Le Labo, at about 1/2 retail on eBay. Mymickers chanel spoke on Dua 28 shades of Tobacco, that it was as good or better... I didn't believe it at first, but when I heard they make 30ml for $65. that over $2./ml, so I understand they could use high quality ingredients.

I hate when people think dupe or clone houses are “stealing”. People, designer and niche houses sell fragrances to people that don’t know dupes exist. They pay full retail bc they can afford it, they’ve done plenty of research to know the supply and demand. They don’t make fragrances for us frag heads with over 100+ bottles, we are a very niche crowd. I think it’s amazing that these houses are helping people that can’t afford to pay cash for $300 50 ml bottle, and no credit cards don’t count. If you can pay cash for it 3x, you can’t afford it.

Just bought my first Dua....Tux inspired by YSL Tuxedo. Saw the video from Cubaknow and him vouching for it saying it’s spot on for a parfum he’s been behind from day one. Don’t get me wrong I would love to purchase the original but I’ve already bought to many originals and it gets up there in price. Happy Dua provides an alternative if one desires. This is going to go great with my First Line Shave Fallout Soap and Splash which is based off of YSL Tuxedo. Looking forward to this and will get my hand on a decant of the original to see how it compares.

My interest in Dua is because of a years long off and on search for, initially, a reasonably-priced legitimate bottle of a discontinued fragrance. Once that became impossible because of insane prices and fakes (bottles being filled with something else), I started looking for something that smelled similar. That led me to a comment that Dua had recreated a version of the original formula of the fragrance that was discontinued. The fact that many "clones" on the site are of the original formula of fragrances that have been reformulated is also interesting. It's a scam by the name brands that they reformulate a fragrance and continue to cash in on the reputation of the original formulation.

I have a question, Does Dua use animal ingredients in their perfumes? Or are they vegan? I see civet and musk in their fragrances, and I was really really hoping that the civet and musks are from plants or synthetics and not from animals.

Pretty sure it’s all synthetic. Real animal musks costs an absolute FUCK TON. VERY few can afford it. Synthetic civet is also used rather than organic. It’s just more cost effective.

I love this interview. I do think there is a place for clone fragrances, as Mahsam said to bring these mostly unattainable experiences to the average Joe. In many cases, I’ve seen clone houses even create a market for the original houses. For example, my clone of Ani has me wanting to purchase the original at some point. For many like me, clones serve as an intro to certain scent profiles/DNA’s that help us determine/map out our fragrance journey.

I actually supported Dua because it’s an American company, Los Angeles and Californian specifically. As long as the juice stayed the same or better, I’ll support if you move. But, think hard about staying in L.A.

Five years on but I can't imagine Dua is taking business from premium or niche brands. Some designer brands but no more than any other competitor would. If you have the money, truly disposable income, there is no reason to not buy the real thing. If you can afford it but not in a disposable income way but a grail way instead, you're not buying in amounts large enough to support a business. High priced luxury fragrances aren't made for those that have to stretch to afford them, they are a status symbol. Even an upper middle class person does not honestly have an income large enough to realistically buy consistently at retail prices. Therefore, imo Dua is only doing exactly what he states and bringing scents to peasants that they would never smell or, certainly not own. As such a peasant, I am deeply grateful. Let's hear it for Dua! Hip hip hurray! Huzzah!
