Tom Ford Tobacco Oud. To be fair, many reviewers warned that it was polarizing, but my curiosity got the best of me. My most expensive blind buy. It takes hours into the dry down before I can tolerate and like it, and I haven't gotten a single compliment with it. It's my longest lasting fragrance though.

Definitely agree with Reflection Man. Smells feminine to me. Bought a decant, and gave it away, didn’t feel confident wearing it as I felt like it was for a woman. Was surprised with Pure Malt. That’s the beauty of fragrances and each individuals difference in taste. Great vid!

I can relate to your experience. I blindly bought Pure Malt in Prague in 2016. I quickly picked it up from the local stored and traveled by bus to the Havel airport. It was one of the craziest days of my life, because missed my flight and slept the whole night the airport as a result. Besides, I kept smelling my new purchase which seemed to me so awfully cheap fragrance

La Nuit just never did it for me at all,Rochas Man is a great scent but it has really poor performance on me...You and J ROYL are 2 of the REALIST reviewers,keep up the great work my man....If it's HIGH END DESIGNER or NICHE buy DECANTS,that's what I do I just don't have money to waste....

I don't have that many strong regrets...I do my research and I usually sample at least 2 or 3 times before buying. I guess one would be Lapidus Pour Homme after hearing Lex Ellis hype it up so much. I knew what I was getting into when I bought it and it was very cheap but I didn't think I'd dislike it *this* much. It has now been relegated to my bathroom air re-freshener, that's it. That's all I use it for. Imagine what a cheap urinal cake smells like...OK, now take that odor and condense it down and bottle it. Now you have Lapidus Pour Homme. I can't believe people actually wore this shit in the '80s. It boggles the mind how this was ever considered sexy and desirable.

Agree with that one,hype train and if I knew just how close it was too joop homme with a little less cinnamon and a touch of raspberry that it was before hand I wouldn't of bothered,as there is still a bottle of that on my shelf...which ironically gets mocked with so much hate nowadays but they're so similar I find the hate toward joop kinda hilarious.. especially knowing these people likely own mont blanc individuel cos Jeremy fragrance talked about it.

i agree w/u in general about hype...i have bought a few major disappointments based on other peoples views. I too got rid of my L'Nuit.....way too sweet for me...also bought MB Individuele.........so synthetic and so way too hyped..........i dont get any quality of that one. We live an learn as we go along..i think blind buys are the worst thing to do for me at this point. The Intense version isn't bad...I like it for the incense+citrus notes. It's definitely not a blind-buy and it's definitely only for summer. Performs very badly in the cold. It's not as versatile as Fragrantica would have you believe but it's still worth a look. I got mine like half price and I'm very happy with it.

I love the opening of Rochas, coffee coffee coffee after 15min starts to smell really heavy not so pleasant I had to give my bottle away. Thanks for a great review Jeremy!

Agree man, I made myself a few hype based blond purchases and absolutely hated them. My number one would be Mont Blanc Individuel. I'm at a point where I think if you see hate for a fragrance in the community, buy it at once, it's going to be good. For example Dior Sauvage and even 1 Million Prive.

Regrets for fragrances is not bad bc compared to other collecting like watches which will turn a loss , the fragrances you can sell off decants which in their part prices in total is more than what you paid for the bottle so you can get most or all your money back.

Of u bought the one EDT 2017-2018 the yes it was wrong but if u bought it from day one it came it was amazing, and Edp is the King... We are all different so respekt för the video 😊 i regret many Armaf bottle i bought, and still buying them 😂

The one scent that I regret buying (and I bought it when it first came out) and couldn't wait until the last spritz was gone from the bottle was Davidoff's Cool Water. That one turned me off to aquatics (although there are some I like). Unlike you, I can't sell off fragrances. It's not that I couldn't use the moolah, but they look cool on the shelf and are evocative of their time. I'm even sorry I threw out the finished bottle of Cool Water as the Davidoff logo has changed. It would be nice just to have the bottle sitting there. I purchased a Ralph Lauren' Safari gift set with the aftershave in 1992 (to get a nice gym bag as a gift at Macys) and Gucci Envy in 1998. I was never crazy about them at the time, but I grew into liking them both. I don't have to tell you what's gone on with Envy in the last few years. I probably have 90% left from both. I'm amazed you don't like A*Men and Versace The Dreamer. I really like them both. While I don't have One Million, I have its clones, Cuba Royal and Lonani AB Sprit Millionaire (and an even cheaper one from the Diamind Collection called Pure Gold), and I enjoy them. Take a whiff of Zara's Intense Dark Exclusive if you can. That has a bit of One Million going on.

Same here with Musc Ravageur....I LOVE the scent but the occasions where i can wear it are very few, But i am not regreting buying it. I Regret buying Versace Man Eau Fraiche, i love the opening but i dislike something in the drydown, i dont know if its the musk or the sycamore. I also regret La Nuit de L`Homme Le Parfum, its an ok scent but i dont actually reach for it.

The Scentrepreneur : saw your video love hour content was hoping you could help a fellow cologne lover, had a bunch of similar moments of regrets as far as blind buys so was hoping you could recommend a good cologne along the line of a favorite discontinued fragrance called candies for men, it had an amazing watermelon top note that I can't, no matter how hard I try, find in any fragrance. Nautica Voyage.I blindly bought it because of the "hype" and hated it.Too damn sweet and fruity for me.😷😳Used it up as a bathroom and laundry room spray. lol Good thing it wasn't very expensive. Now I order samples online or get them from Macy's and wear them a few times to see if I like them before making a purchase on a bigger bottle.

I want to find out more about your favorites now I am curious. I think perfumes is like great food or sophisticated wine if you never had any better your taste buds have an unrefined palate thus your standards are lower. But once you try more complex higher quality fragrances it is hard to put on the cheap scents.

You are right niche perfumes is like amazing sex once you have it putting up with bad lovers it is a no no. I went to a store and I tried creed and Kilian but I had gone there to purshase Narciso Rodrigues. But I walked out dreaming with Creed and Kilian and end up getting Tom Ford Noir de Noir and Tuscan leather. I want creeds and Kilian and parfum de marly they seem to be amazing! Tobacco Vanilla and male perfumes by Tom Ford are very interesting too. I am a girl but I think male perfumes have more interesting notes.

The chance that i dislike it is bigger than that i would like it. I totally don't get some of the hypes. Also, the EDT projects better than the EDP, as in most cases, EDPs last longer. Depends on your metric of performance, Skin scent for 6 hours or, project for an hour or two and then Skin scent for the rest.. Also remember, EDT and EDP are just there for show. Many of us can provide examples of EDTs, even EDC's lasting longer than EDPs.

Sort of a side comment that was inspired by your mention of Jazz Club. I really like learning about and exploring everything about fragrances. One of the things I'm most intrigued by is how fragrances are loved by one person and not the next. Same as with food or music, what is great to someone may be found terrible to another. I'm saying this as a precursor to my comment about Jazz Club... I was at a Sephora last month checking out some different colognes that I hadn't previously smelled. Got to talking with one of the guys that works there that has seen me several times and knows that I'm a collector. He showed me Jazz Club. To me, it smelled nothing like The One. I found it absolutely atrocious. One of the worst smelling fragrances I've encountered. The girl I'm dating was with me looking at makeup and I called her over to smell it too. She said if I wore that that I'd never get to touch her butt ever again lol. In fact, from holding the test strip, I could smell it on my hand and I left the store to go wash my hands to get it off of me. I came back to the store to ask for a sample of it so I could show it to different friends to see if anyone liked it. So far, I've showed it to 7 people and all of them a unanimous negative opinion. Not even an "its ok, but not a big fan" but instead they all pretty much said "it stinks". Again, not saying this to shit on your opinion of it. In fact, I'm kind of excited to find someone that actually likes it. I mean, it is for sale in stores, so somebody somewhere likes it. One of the fragrances in my collection that I really like that I've received mixed reviews from friends or girls is Creed Himalaya. I dated a girl for a while that loved it, and I've dated a couple of girls that didn't like it at all. So, given that, I do have mixed feelings about my purchase of it based on my experiences with it.

I stopped buying colognes years ago. They are all rapid skin scents and they do not perform like they used to. I now wear Belcam colognes to work. One is called Blue Depths and the other is called G Bronze which is a copy of adg absolu. At the end of the day i still get compliments on how good i smell and i only spray on skin, not clothes. They only cost eight dollars each. These high end designers are ripping people off with their skin scents. Today its all about the pretty boxes and bottles and the juice inside has gone to hell

Ah sorry man, I did say their were 2 that killed it and they were The One EdP and Replica Jazz Club. Jazz Club for me is a slightly louder, boozy, more vanillay version of The One EdT!

Reflection man...I got a sample first of run way by Alexandria fragrances and thought hm ok...if reflection man is a much higher class ingredient version of this then maybe... then reflection man sample arrived and,credit to Alexandria fragrances...they nailed it for like 1/8 of the price...cos it smells the closest clone I've ever got my nose on to compare in fragrance history so far...for the price,reflection man is not worth the money at all...just get Alexandria fragrances version if you like the white floral approach... both have a nice enough in the air smell but when too many whiffs pass the nose I find it it makes the stomach turn a little,even my gf didn't even ask what's this one today,so completely underwhelmed even the mrs who always smells something on me..

Dior Sauvage, Salvatore Ferragamo F Black, Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme, John Varatos(It was actually a gift, but I hated it), Tom Ford by Tom Ford for men, and Invictus Intense....all regrets. I also didn't care too much for Versace Eros..didn't really regret it though as I have a love/hate relationship with it as I do with 1 Million. BTW, as you can tell from my profile pic, I love La Nuit de L'Homme Le Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent for men. Sorry, not sorry. lol

You might want to also leave a caveat for people saying "hey, these didn't work on My skin, it might not be the case for you" The one EDT performs like shit for like 90% of people, my mate gets 12 hours, 4 of which are projecting. For me thought I get 4 (at best).

I did put a caveat in the comments but you're right, there should've been a more clear one in the video itself. I'm not saying any 1 of these is "bad" they're just mistakes I made and examples for guys not to buy based solely on hype

For me... Bond no.9 in general. When I first jumped into niche, I started off with Tom Ford, Creed and Bond no.9 and out of the 3 houses, Bond was the only one I didn't felt worth buying. I blind buy a bunch of stuff from listening to reviewers hype stuff up. But let's be honest, New Harlem is easily replaceable by many scents from other houses. Bleecker Street is not better than Green Irish Tweed IMO as well as the ladies in my life. Anyways, why get that when there is Chez Bond which is a ripoff of GIT anyways. Both equally expensive, might as well get a GIT clone from Armaf and save the cash. After these 2 disappointments, I sampled every fragrance they had at the store and liked really nothing other than Park Avenue South and Queens. Bought them and after a week or so, started to hate them because it felt more feminine than when I first smelled them at the store. This brand is over priced and over hyped. D&G The One is a big fail IMO. Smells like something an old man would wear trying to be young. Don't get why people say its a tobacco scent, can't smell the tobacco. It has a very strong smell of musk and vanilla, reminds me of Versace Eros & Salvatore Uomo, but I don't get the tobacco vibe. Another one is Dior Sauvage, it gets good result, but in my country you are paying above entry niche price, might as well save it and get something from Gallagher, Gate, Mancera, Parfums de Marly or By Kilian in that case. Or save another 50 USD and get Creed, Tom Ford and Amouage.

I'm kinda with you on Bond, I "like" most of what I've smelled from them but very few are great imo. Your right, there are a lot of cheaper options too!

Mont blanc Starwalker , Versace Eue fraiche , CH for man and CH Vip 212 all weak scents .. am more into stronger scents with a character

I thought that I was the only one that felt this way when it came to Pure Malt! I don't like it at all. I only wear it because of the so called high compliment factor. Not! That's why you should NEVER blind buy any fragrance unless it's a cheapie(20$ and under)! I actually like La nuit but I wish I would have brought L'Homme instead.

I made the same mistake on YSL. Not a fan of the scent either. Reflection Man I have sampled and I don't enjoy the scent. Smells too feminine to me. Good video thanks

Sir Nigel Gaunt some people have actually problems with their sense of smell. My way to know if I can trust a fragrance reviewer is hear what they say about the horrible Kouros, if they can’t smell the feces in it I know their nose is shot

Yep. Ive made the same mistake with the one edt. Wish I had the edp instead but it's the smaller bottle so I take it in trips. And with ysl. Killed my 2011 bottle and bought a new one. Its ☠️

I regret buying My Land by Trussardi, it's so volatile on my skin, smells like piss one day, then a way too fragrant leather aquatic; it's just always all over the place. Luckily I only bought a 30ml bottle of it. Also L'eau d'Issey pour Homme Sport; it just smells like soap, nothing more.

La Nuit is my magic. To be honest it ain't the best smelling, the opening is weird and the reformulation sucks. I can't put my finger on it why, but it will always remain my favourite anyway. Never understood, but the pussy magnet comes on for a reason i can't explain. By far my most complimented fragrance!
