In these most neurotic times for our sweet nation Frasier's ever present struggles with his neuroses are so wonderfully welcomed. ... They make ours feel normal, and thus we are more charitable to each other. . . Welcome back Frasier; it is high time you came back!

@@jamesbaggett7223It means something when you support a hateful, lying criminal demagogue who is bent on destroyingour democracy. So, f*** him.. Seems likely to me that this is the reason some of his former co-stars did not want to participate. In the end, however, the real problem is this new show is not funny.

The character development over their last 9 episodes of the new series has been phenomenal. Frasier’s speech about Freddie reminds me of the softball, the goth and the Crane’s go camping episodes. More importantly it reminds me of the scene where Niles and Frasier were in Martin’s bedroom after his heart attack. David Hyde Pearce actually had tears in his eyes during the scene.

The clips I've seen of this show make me wonder how much this show exists because it's Kelsey Grammar's way of working through a lot of heavy personal issues.

You help your children, but at the end of the day it’s down to them so I would suggest when they reach their early 20s. You let them go and they will quite literally will sink or swim but you’ve laid the foundation for them. Good advice, love and affection, financial support through education. What more are you supposed to do?

Frasier didn’t lay a foundation. He wasn’t present for his son. He lived on the other side of the country. That’s why he feels guilty. And many children struggle to launch when the base is not secure.

As I am aware this is a new take or new chapter in the life of Frasier I still believe this show misses the fatal dry whit of David Hyde Pierce's 'Niles' The snobby, anxious qualities provided a foil for Frasier's own issues. Whilst at times being able to excel in magnitude.

I think if the character’s Eve and David were more than filler or to prove a point this show could have more than one season. What was great about the original cast were the characters were fully formed with particular actors in mind. Here the only characters fully formed or already known are Frasier, Lilith, Freddie and Alan. Everyone else is sounding board and there’s no ricochet. The writers need to create these characters in such a way the actors can embody them instead of just performing words. David seems to be like one of these characters. They need to give him more personality and a few eccentricities like they did Niles at least a good backstory like Roz from the original series. If David were to have the physical comedy of Niles but the attitude of Daphne it might be more believable. For now Ye seem like the spineless Niles without the zing banter and eloquence.

I'm loving the sequel so far (and why is everyone calling it a reboot? It's not a bl##dy reboot), but the character of David Crane is just not working. He feels showhorned in and overplayed for cheap laughs. At best, he just comes over as a pale attempt at a one-dimensional, Sheldon Cooper copy&paste. If they had someone with the wit and brains of Niles, but with the down to earth smarts and sheer "don't mess with me" balls of Daphne, you'd have an interesting character for Frasier and Freddy to bounce off of. But, as he is, David sticks out like a very unfunny (and getting gradually more and more annoying) sore thumb.
@adrastos7618 ай бұрын
David, to me just walks around just being stupid and annoying, he is not funny at all. I don't even think he is needed on the show. I do like the Alan character, someone Frasier's age group to be a friend. Frasier seems well, obviously older, but he looks more tired, and slower, but, aren't we all....I think the set decor is rather boring and very drab looking. That wallpaper, ugh....

I had high hopes, and came with an open mind, but this series is ruining both the original Frasier and Only Fools and Horses for me. I'm watching it only out of morbid interest now. The writing is sadly not anywhere near the same level, and at least twice I've predicted lame punchlines at the start of a dialogue. The only chuckle I had in this episode was when Frasier took a banana call from the president. Good job everyone for trying though. 2/10
