Looking good, guys! I know what you mean about vacation being work. My sister and I do projects on the farm for our vacations and wear our tails out, but it’s so gratifying to get them done. So yeah, it’s worth it. I agree with someone else here about renting a scissor lift for that ceiling. That much ladder work is risky, and more so when fatigue kicks in.

I worked construction as an electrician for over 15 years and I never seen anyone cut the bottom plate for the door openings before they stood up the wall. Putting that temporary strap in to keep that wall straight was a great idea instead of cutting the bottom plate later. Thanks for letting us watch you and Rebecca put those walls up. Great video.

Just a suggestion: adding 2 “windows” on the wall separating the workshop. It would give more light and would be useful to check if you left the light on or if Rebekah is looking for you by just opening the barn door. Otherwise you will need to go to the workshop every time.

Watching the videos...thanks for making. I am about to start a similar project where I split my pole barn in half to also allow for heating the half. I see you spray foamed the outside walls. Happy with that? Also, I am in Central MN which is probably a bit colder than but similar. I was initially contemplating a 2x6 wall to allow for more insulation. Are you happy with the 2x4s?

I hope you can find a big industrial sheet rock lift to rent for that ceiling. Where I am, I think I got them (many yrs ago) from Taylor, and they were big electro-hydraulic with wheelbarrow sized tires. I forget how high they went, 20-25 feet it seems, took half a day to assemble and tear down. Today they are probably battery powered hovercraft type. I also think they would handle 20 foot sheets, but I've been retired over a decade now so remember little about them and they may not even exist anymore.

Hint >> We make 2x4 straighteners constructed as one 4' 2x4, plus two 2' 2x4s screwed on the end, to look like a tuning fork. Leave the end screws a little loose so not to be tight. Works great. We call it "Mr. Bender" lol.

"Don't mess with Nurse Rebecca. I've seen her with a nail gun and she knows how to use it! Imagine her with a injection gun! "💉 I'm envious of that pole barn. I'm trying to get an estimate on a garage, but we don't have room for anything close to anything as large as that. If I can't get someone to shoot me a price, I'll build the darn thing myself.

Evan put a couple of box fans at the bottom of the rafters to bring that heat out of the rafters to the floor you’ll enjoy the added heat at body level as time goes on you maybe adding more attractive fans later on but these will do as you build. I’ve done this to shops that had high ceilings that I worked in in my life time just turn them on low to start
