FRANCE Supermarket FOOD COST Tour Dec 2023 MONOPRIX NICE

France is a pricey country. But there are some things very cheap compared to North America. That is Cheese Breads and Wine. Yes you can get a bottle of drinkable wine for 3 Euro ($3 US). A baguette will only set you back 1.Euro, bottle water 1.5 L is only .3 Euro, but fruits and meats are pricey. You will most likely visit a supermkt if you want to do a picnic. Grab some cold cuts, cheese baguette and wine and you are all set. Cheap way of eating.

There's a woman in London who posts videos of supermarkets there and the food seems super cheap even in the high end supermarkets like Marks and Spencer. I guess food in France is a lot more expensive than in the UK.

guess its all in where you shop. Monoprix is a normal place with normal pricing. If you got to discount supermkts or wait for sales things, results are very different. Same here in Canada - I buy things according to whats on sale that week otherwise you could pay 2x the price. Find many things cheaper over in Europe. When i went this time i hopped over to Italy and did a comparision. Bit cheaper on produce and some other things... Local or outdoor markets can also be a cheaper way of shopping.

8 days there and only 1 day cloudy and showers in menton. 15 degree sunny rest of day. Need light down at night as it could be 7 to 8 degrees. The alps block cloud. Good time to go as no tourist and cheaper hotels but some restaurants closed for the season
