They're *metalhead idol stans.* (I always took their whole sub-arc as being sort of an attempt to point out how dumb the idea that you can only like one type of music is, and especially the kneejerk dismissal of pop that a lot of metal/rock fans have, and this--them literally forcing other elitist fans to look at a pop idol band and see them for what they are--is kind of the culmination of that. I really really love them; they're fantastic.)

Since you can actually notice the CGI gradually improving even during the first season, there's a theory that it's done that way on purpose - they start of with stiff, uncanny valley dancing (they're corpses, after all), and their moves become much more life-like and synchronized as they get better. Not sure if it's really on purpose, but it's a fun theory.

Yeah, they're true metalheads. They saw Franchouchou rise to popularity, and came to love them for who they were, and not because of the genre. Those two enjoy the music, and have the guts to not hide that. And when things get hairy, they stand up for the girls, even going against other metal fans. Also, one of them grabbing that guy by the head like "Look at them. Look at them, and listen."
