These remind me of my aunts Congress tarts she always did jam instead of mincemeat... but at Christmas she would do mincemeat... So funny my MOTHER USED TO SAY "" "OH YOU KNOW YOUR AUNTIE PHYLLIS SHE'S ALWAYS GOT TO BE DIFFERENT" "" SHAKING HER HEAD and tutting as she said it.... BUT I THOUGHT THEY WERE WONDERFUL,,, I GUESS YOU COULD SAY SHE. WAS AHEAD OF HER TIME,,, AS THIS WAS BACK IN THE LATE 1950S so great memory again for me 🧒 🎅🎄🤶 Geoff. I will make these for sure.... Hope you are well 🍂🍁🍂🍁💞

Hi Henrietta. Yes they are similar to Congress Tarts, but with mincemeat. I have a coconut & almond version on Congress Tarts on the channel, which are very good. In my experience aunties always had to be different.

@@henriettahenson Well that is one of a great-aunt's eccentricities, spelling it wrongly. LOL.

I agree with Maeflor! I just so enjoy your meticulously demonstrated recipes! Every one I’ve made has turned out beautifully. I appreciate those slightly ‘different’ recipes you provide. This one is going to be added to my Christmas baking list! One of the many with your special stamp.

Dear Geoff, to watch your face when you taste the frangipani mince was sublime!! I love all of your recipes and the care and detail you give,I am a bit of a perfectionist and I guess you are too! I will sit here and watch every move you make, now I do not do that with all posts I watch but I know it is worth staying to the end Bravo and a very nice christmas😊well done❤

HI Janice. Thanks very much. I am pleased that you like to watch the videos all the way to the end. I do tend to fixate on things, like scraping every last morsel from a bowl. I hope you have a most enjoyable Christmas too.
