Kurlovich Tarenko (sp) and Pisarenko are my two all time favorites...the greatest of all time. And I'll always say it, Kurlovich was robbed in '87 with that 266kg clean and Jerk.

LED Construction Taranenko Pisarenko i Agree..Kurlovitch was extraordinary athlete too.but too light ! with 20kg of bodyweight in more (and for Chemerkine 20kg in less)...150kg is ideal weight for a 1m75/1m85 super.....(170 for giants)

LED Construction i respect Kurlovitch because he was handicaped by his chronic elbow failure (at the end of his course he fall because that...and its very sad)...
@alanaliyev456GT7 жыл бұрын
LED Construction you can added Krastev just for snatch . ..and Nerlinger just for Clean and jerk

LED Construction very sad and unfair he was Robbed because he announced before match like allways his right elbow locked chronic failure (in conformity with IWF rules)

@@alanaliyev456GT Pisarenko was lighter than Kurlovich and they were the same height (187cm ) Too bad we didn't see Pisarenko at his full potential as he was suspended by the soviet federation as a scapegoat and never came back...

Very true. By Sydney he was over 179 kilos and pressed out every one of his jerks. Dont know how the judges passed them. I saw him lift at the Paul Anderson Memorial Invitational in Atlanta in 95 a few months before the worlds. He was a little heavier than here but powersnatched 185, then made 195. he then powercleaned 235 on his opener then clean and jerked 245 on his 2nd. Jerks were explosive and fast. I got some photos with him with my hand on his back. hardest human flesh I've ever felt.

chemerkin must have had the strongest jerk ever. I've heard he did a 290kg front squat and jerk complex.
@UncleRuckusEnjoyer6 жыл бұрын
my coach was a soviet lifter he saw the legends during their trainings for example David Rigert. and he told me that there was a ukranian lifter called Fjajov and he could back squat with 350x10 while he was 110kg. and powerlifters think they are strong:D

Chermerkin only failed this and 270 kilo because he didn’t get under the barbell. If he did I’m certain he would’ve pressed both.
