Nancy is a great singer,I have about 20 of her albums and love every one of them.The first L.P. of her's that I bought (in 1967) called "Movin' With Nancy" proved to me that she could sing beautifully in her own right and was not famous just for being Frank Sinatra's daughter.More recently I purchased the D.V.D. of this record which was apparently the first music video ever produced. It has guest appearances by Frank Sinatra,Dean Martin,Lee Hazelwood,Sammy Davis Jr.-- I thoroughly recommend it to all Nancy fans.

@supernoia Thank you for uploading this rare, vintage footage!! This delightful blast from the past is an absolute treat to watch. It wouldn't seem unusual whatsoever to learn they both managed this bit in one take. The part where Nancy cant help giggling when Frank starts singing "Downtown" with her is adorable & memorable. P.S. I noticed a video on the sidebar titled "Nancy Sinatra calls duets with Frank hilarious", from CBS Sunday Morning some 8 years back. She went on with her neighbor, indeed has aged, but it was good to see that she hadn't ever resorted to plastic surgery (at least that I know of).

I remember this, the oddly dedigned set wasnt finished in time and missing a set of steps , it was considered a security risk if they put the lights right down to allow the girls to leave this platform and since this was a Sinatra situation and given the song title Frank wondered how to deal with it given Nancy was in a dress. Nancy decided to roll off as gracefully as possible so as not to reveal anything or be at risk in the dark. We ( relative's of the duo) were slightly amused at the new way for ladies to exit the platform but it worked to eleviate security problems. The older generations involved were all waiting to see how Nancy's plan was going to work out...' well that's one way of doing it..solved the security problems mused one of the relatives....yes, very graceful.' they would have some crazy sets to work with when they would arrive various places. Making me smile this footage. Nancy was at least pleased that her new way of getting off stage showed her legs off.

Listen to the drummer on "On Broadway," 2:35 its simply marvelous. Its a crescendo arrangement and the drummer is really driving the rhythm thru the ascention - he even syncs his licks with the horn accents during the break 4:22. Brilliant.

@defundthewar I lived through this and remember it well. Even her dad joked about her sudden fame. Her recording of "Boots" was a sensation. DJs played it to death. I remember high school lunchroom, and when the song came on, the students cheered and sang it. Hey, even Fabian and hoola hoops had a moment. Maybe goofy, but true.
@BarneyGoogle195013 жыл бұрын
@defundthewar I was around then. Nancy was never seen as a great singer, but she was in fact (albeit briefly) more popular than her dad ! And he was BIG in the mid 1960's. I was in high school at the time and she was really an "in" performer...if only for a moment.. I agree, she is now seen as a niche performer of her time.
