Yes indeed he did, away before my time. I was a polka dot during the 80's and always liked doing these sort of songs with Frankie, Cup of Conversation, Burning Bridges..there were lot's of really easy listening numbers that just suited his voice so well and kept us in the cabaret scene as much as the old dance halls!
