I get it. I always wished for a song with my name & mentioned that to my ex when the song "Bernadette" came on the radio as we got in the car. He said there was no song with his name either. I contradicted him, "Oh, yes, there's "George of the Jungle". Ha!

Another great song by them that’s really fun is Walk Like A Man. Amazing vocals by the whole band in all there songs.

Rag Doll, Big Girls Don't Cry and there are many many more. Lou Christy was another one that could hit those high notes.

This is their first radio hit. I danced to this at the very first dance I went to When I was in Junior High School. Separating the tracks was a way of creating a 3-D effect with the sound.

I think it inherently has humor in it, and that's part of what makes it just such a fun song. This is actually from my parents' generation, and I remember that my mom absolutely loved stuff like this. So at some point when I was in high school, I bought Dick Clark's Greatest Hits from the 50s, and it was a double album of mostly like 2 minutes songs. So I got exposed to a ton of it, and I really came to like it so much.

I named my first daughter after this song back in the 60's. And then two years later I named another daughter from a 60's song called "Sheila"..by Tommy Roe

When I was young and this song came out, my four sisters and I used to dance to it incessantly on our large front porch.

When you're marveling about how the producer/audio engineer mixed the stereo version of the song for the album, decing where to put different sounds, left to right, in the mix, it reminds me that it might never occur to you that when we all heard these songs first, it was most often on the radio And in those days, hit music was only heard on AM radio, which is not stereo, so we only heard the songs in MONO. So we never heard such a mix unless we bought the album. And even still, many albums were still being mixed in mono. And in the early '60s when this was a hit, buying albums wasn't really a big thing. If you liked the music you heard on the radio and you were a kid, you raced out to the record stoore to buy the SINGLE for like a dollar, rather than the album, which sold for around 7 or 8 bucks and had maybe a dozen songs. Most of us who were around back then, we only ever heard these songs in MONAURAL sound...unless and until the stereo versions became available...which, for many of us, wasn''t until decades later.

Great review and well done. Frankie Valli and his band The Four Seasons went on to chart over 60 billboard chart records in their career.

I think you said you've done two songs by them, but you've done several. It's just that the very early songs sound quite different. Songs by them you've covered include: "My Eyes Adored You," "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," and I thought you had done "December, 1963," but I don't see it in the list. Of early Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, you've done "Big Girls Don't Cry" and this one ("Sherry"). A logical follow-up to this one is "Walk Like A Man." If you go back to later era songs by Frankie, you have "Who Loves You" and "Grease." And of course if you haven't done "December, 1963," do it.
