What you say its absolute true, we need this types of woman in media, especially for the young minds that can learn from them but i cannot help but think that as he said, it was an study from 2018. You can confidently confirm that those values have change during the last 4 years, due the general social situation. Also, mbti types can be easily mistyped due to the numerous values and specific characteristics that you have to take into account to designate each individual and sometimes each mbti can have very small differences. I think there are more women entj and entp than we really think, especially thinking about how economic and mental independence is a must to survive in our world nowadays.

THE ONLY THING MBTI ASSUMES US TO KNOW "being rarest is arbitrary we all are variants with different combinations and different degree of traits "
@princesscharis3 жыл бұрын
I had some problems interacting with people and after reading about the rarity of my character it made some sense. I embraced easier many parts of me. Of course we shouldn't use it as an excuse to be annoying towards others, either precious snowflakes, those are for teens, for me it is a tool to understand different types and to respect their character. It gave me better social tools and makes it easier for me to navigate in society and economically. For those who might have some self esteem issues, can help a great deal. For others who like to show off how rare they are, it is from an immature kind of place and ignorance of the importance to know how to be social so you can have a positive and good network in life which can benefit you and others. Knowing when to talk and whom to talk to maximize a positive outcome in a situation, little knowledge of the MBTI can help in those decisions. Of course there are always exceptions, but in general it works. I will give you an example, I had an ISTJ female friend, the woman was a delight and very helpful if you want to fix a house..... she was the ultimate tool, but to talk to her about making plans for a business, the lack of N was showing from miles away.... she thought I was delusional, INTJ female. On the other hand, talking to an ENTJ about the making of a business, is always for me a great conversation.

As a 20 year old female istj, I honestly wasn’t expecting us to be that common(but it’s fine, I’ll survive). In my life I’m surrounded by basically only N types. My two ex bf are an enfp and an entp, my friends group is composed by two enfps and an infj( to whom I have a really strong connection with) and my brother and dad being enfps and my mom an enfj. In general, from what I’ve observed in the past years, I tend to get along with N types and rarely with S types and I’m pretty sure it has to do with the fact that I’ve always been surrounded by you guys (Ns) and I’m just so used to your kind of humour and way of communicating that I find it difficult to get along with S types. Just wanted to add how infj males are the ones I tend to bond with the most. Don’t know why I shared this, don’t know who cares but hopefully there’s another S type (or N type) out there who has a similar experience.
@chia.3 жыл бұрын
@@SirLanRic hey.. first off thanks for your response, I was actually hoping an N would share their similar experience. I can understand where you come from as it’s not always easy to be surrounded by S users especially from an N users prospective ahaha but to answer your question on the “N” humour and way of communicating, I would say you guys have this way of not having to explain jokes or situations, we just look at each other and get exactly what we are thinking or feeling. It’s hard to explain but I’ve been in situations with other S users where I noticed something funny and I tried making eye contact with them, and they had nooo idea what I was laughing at even when I tried to explain it. Obviously I’m generalising as not all S and N are the same. It’s just a pattern I noticed based on those I’ve met and observed during these past years. I hope I answered your question clearly 😊

Wow...I am an ISTJ woman and I got mostly frustrated because I attract feelers who mostly hide their emotions. One of my exes was ESFP personality type. Let's just say we didn't get along well. I think I never attracted man who is thinker. I read somewhere that the reason for that is because feelers tend to be attracted to thinkers and that thinkers mostly see problems in relationships while feelers try to fix things. All my female friends are feelers mostly and we have different perspective regarding the romantic relationships and life in general. I'm glad you made this video. For men, i really wonder how skewed the results are towards ST. The reason why is because society says that men use logic and thinking and women use feeling, but that's not what the scientific data in experiments actually says, women do use less thinking they actually have thw ability to balance all perspectives more to make a more holistic approach whereas men rely on on a set of information at a time. I'd not be surprised if many men answer the questions more on what they feel like they do as oppsed to what they actually do since many men make feeling based decisions constantly (example: all the men who try to flex to the other men with their cars). Essentially, are men answering aspirationally and that's creating a bias in the data because it's self reporting? I would be interested to see how this data changes based on sexuality where gender norms and societal pressure to fit into boxes is less pushed that hetero specific data. - ENTP female (previoudly tested as entj)
@sophiamuseologist33673 жыл бұрын
I had very similar thoughts! I get the impression that a lot of people, men especially, are conditioned to believe their value based decisions are actually (primarily) logic based decisions. I grew up in a very Thinking dominated household, and learned to value logic heavily, so I tested most of my life as an INTP. In reality, I'm an INFP (female), and only recently learned the real difference between Thinking and Feeling. Even though thinking and acting logically is one of my strongest values, the first question I ask myself about decisions is "what is most important" rather than "what is most logical." I also had to kind of unlearn that making value or preference based decisions was somehow inherently inferior to thinking ones, an assumption I'm sure many people, especially ones identifying as men, face as well. As someone who self reported incorrectly for so long on every single test, I can absolutely see how social expectation and misunderstanding of ones own thought processes could be partially behind the discrepancy.
@salemsaberhagan3 жыл бұрын
Well, feelings & emotions are usually most consequential in the social domains. We also see that men are more likely to be introverted, which means they're engaging less with other people. Fun little fact about the human social hormone oxytocin is that it originally started out as a maternal bonding hormone that got generalised to all socialization over evolutionary time. Even now, oxytocin selectively binds to oestrogen & women have more free floating oxytocin than men. There are certainly men who have above average oxytocin & women who have below average levels, but natural variation is to be expected. Statistically, men are more variable than women so it's more likely that you'll find a man who defies the norm than a woman & that's reflected in these MBTI types too. The men are spread out more across types while women are comparatively dominating some types. My personal theory is that this group level standardisation is balanced out by greater individual variability in women which is controlled for by greater self awareness, which is why we don't easily see it in experimental situations. Because group variability is an advantage so it doesn't seem likely that women would forego it to such an extent. A lot of straight men lack the kind of self awareness I personally see in women & queer men & the average IQ for queer people is also shown to be higher. And yeah, the data will be skewed towards cishets because, news flash, cishets are the majority of the population. Further separating the data by sexuality is unlikely to yield much different results unless we eliminate all the straights & then we'll see stuff like more male-identifying Ns & Fs vs more female-identifying Ss & Ts. Ik a lot of bi women who are NT for example. -INTP-J Gay Man fascinated by how the realpolitik necessities of feminist movements continue to have the effect of making people feel there should literally be no differences between the traditional sexes in any way, instead of there simply being no difference in terms of political rights.
@slin26783 жыл бұрын
This is kinda a chicken vs egg situation. Does society have these expectations on men so men tend to try to be more ST or did men evolve to be more ST so society has these expectations? It's likely a combination where majority of men are ST so some of those that are not may want to or aspire to, skewing the results even more. -ENTP
@spaghetti59143 жыл бұрын
omg an entp girl analysing 😳 but seriously, now that you mention it, men in general tend to be more explosive and reckless than women. As far as I know, women take more careful approaches down to the most basic thing. For example, teen girls when it comes to drama, very rarely engage in physical fights in a school, they are more discreet and indirect, while boys are much more likely to do that, and then there are men who worry too much about their image and masculinity, the whole 'incel" and "simp" situation which is a whole psychological rabbit hole consisting of a lack of self awareness and insecurities, and they more likely to commit crimes or indulge in behavior that is dangerous not only for themselves but others too, which appears like an unhealthy function pulling the strings here, maybe unhealthy Fi or low Fi? I don't have enough knowledge on how unhealthy types work with grips and stuff so I can't say much here However, as an intp girl, I have noticed that thinker girls tend to be more reckless than feeler ones. Feelers may explode, they may cry, but they are also aware to not cross the line I don't know why that is, I normally would sit down to think more but it is 2 am rn and I need to get ready for -hell- school Gender roles enforced by society must definitely play a role here, in terms of behavior, women are more liberated if you ask me (in western countries), they can have "masculine" and tough hobbies, styles without being judged, while men can't really do that, they can't access the vulnerability and softness associated with femininity that women can A woman can literally wear any men's fashion and not get judged, while a man could wear a dress and cause controversy (I love how I said a paragraph above that I need to go to sleep -_-)
@CarolinaBury3 жыл бұрын
This is kind of what I was thinking. Men learn they have to be Thinkers, and if you give then a simplified test they will say "I am rational". But as a INTJ I always see most of people around me behaving as Feelers. I'm sure most of those men would be identified as feelers in a serious consultation instead of a simple test

I hope people don't forget that MBTI only involves literally 4 letters which is not enough to define ur personality. No matter how common ur type is, we are still special in our own ways due to us having different life experiences and memories that made up who we are. MBTI is pretty much generalised tbh. Just because certain 4 letters fit ur personality's description doesn't mean that's all who u are. Even if u meet someone with the same mbti personality type as u, u and that person will never ever have the same personality or interests. Idek why I'm typing this long ass essay but I just wanna let yall know that U R SPECIAL AND UNIQUE JUST THE WAY U R so yeah. Very interesting! I asked everyone I knew to do the test The men are- ESFJ (2) INFP, and ESTP. The women are- INFJ (3), INFP, INTP, ENFJ (2), and ENFP. Just jotting stuff down, thought it was interesting that some of these are pretty rare according to gender. -INFJ female Side note, having an ESFJ grandpa is the best :]

Hi Frank, I am a new subscriber, and I can say that your videos have affected me deeply. They've made me see life differently and focus less on every little thing. The MBTI has brought me closer to people around me. Despite the fact that it is sometimes regarded as unscientific and controversial, I believe that the MBTI’s importance lies in its peacekeeping capacity. It has the potential to connect people and let them understand each other better. For example, when the colleagues from my department took the test, the work atmosphere improved a lot! Knowing each other’s type helped us to become more tolerant. Thus, for me the MBTI is about how to become your better self, thereby making the world a better place for everyone. It is very inspiring!! And just a funny fact :) I like that there are some complex words and phrases from C2 vocabulary in your videos. English is my second language and watching the vids helps me to keep it fresh and have a good time at the same time! Thank you for all you do. Best wishes from Moscow, Russia

ENFJ stats are the most shocking to me and I knew there were plenty of ESTJ men since that's who I usually attract on dating apps lol (INTJ here) Seeing that the NT/NF men percentage isn't as low as I thought gives me slight hope in finding an intuitive partner I tried an ESFJ and it just wasn't for me, unfortunately. Amazing human tho

The people we attract aren't always necessarily the ones we want. They're the ones who find the signals we give out to be most appealing. Try changing stuff on your profiles, you might see a difference. But micromanaging & curating to one single type isn't ideal either coz compatibility is complex. Balance is key, as always.
@dialiann3 жыл бұрын
@takai akai yeah, I agree. I still date other types that I don't "prefer" but the patterns are the same and the compatibility isn't there. I am more successful when I date NT/NF types, which are very rare to encounter.

I think that social expectations probably are coming into play here. Not only is there not a single feeling type with more men than women or vice versa for thinking types. But the four types with the highest ratios of women are all the xxFJ types, which prefer Fe. And Fe, being attuned to other people's feelings and acting to meet their needs and take care of them, is exactly what women are traditionally expected to do
@redbest19433 жыл бұрын
But social expectations come from reality don't they? At their root. Like, if there weren't more women being Fe rather than say Te, the expectations of women being Fe-like never would've formed. It's also stereotyped that women are more emotional than men, and as you saw in the video, more women are F types than T types - while mostly wrong because alot of women are T types, you can see how the stereotype of women being more 'emotional' would've come to be.
@spurqz3 жыл бұрын
While I think culture surely affects and amplifies gender differences, there might also be natural gender differences and we don't know which one affects more
@sarahr30763 жыл бұрын
@@redbest1943 Not necessarily. When people are told something is true their whole lives, they will often ignore all evidence that doesn't fit what they "know" is true and try to shove people into boxes that don't fit rather than reevaluate their entire worldview. There are many, many examples of things societies have thought women were naturally like in the past that were wrong.
@TrueSunara3 жыл бұрын
@@redbest1943 but what part of reality might we be speaking of? The reality that many women gave birth created the expectation that they do more of the child-rearing. Since their time was spent doing so, it could be argued that this environment conditioned them to think more based on feeling, not necessarily an innate preference.
@redbest19433 жыл бұрын
@@TrueSunara Perhaps - can't argue with that. But also, MBTI isn't so much a measure of personality, rather how you think. Personality is how you think and act while MBTI really just tells you how each type thinks. While mother's may be loving and caring to their children and tell them Fe-sounding things, the mother in her mind may be more Te but has learnt to filter what she says. But yeah - there's no evidence that this Fe association with females doesn't come from women being 'motherly'
