As an INFJ, that was too accurate because -Confesses if he for sure knows she likes him back -Gets his intuition wrong, awful pain -“Are you sure??” Always wanting to go beyond the surface like a therapist -Hides the pain because it will hurt x100 more if he sees the other person feel bad about it -Fails, which means complete destruction of an INFJ
@madsismad91132 жыл бұрын
this happened to me in the exact order as above: -I know she likes me, and I like her back, gotta be 98 percent sure before confessing -she's not into me at all and never was or will be apparently, ouch(really) -really? what about all the signs and acting like a couple, etc. i must know why -continue to work and live together for months, acting like nothing happened so not to make her worry -she finds a new guy exactly like her ex and moves away, I feel like a fool

That is why we get played. We believe in honesty and believe if someone is acting like they are into you, they are. But news flash....people can be unethical and players. My boyfriend is an INTJ and I'm an INFJ. Actually, when he first confessed we were just quietly walking in the park and he asked if he could hold my hand, but then he just grabbed my thumb and we briefly shared our feelings. Two weeks later he kissed me for the first time, but I didnt know we had already established we were in a relationship, so I was like "uh... what are we?" And he goes "wait, I thought you were my girlfriend." And all could say was "since when?" Turns out the two of us really misunderstood each other and are just super awkward. Two years later and we still joke about it! 😅

@@nattay9852 What part dont you guys understand? I'm curious to know lol Is it that I didnt know we were already dating? At that time, he told me he liked me, and I said I liked him. But just saying that doesn't automatically mean we're together right? In Korea, there's a culture of having a phase between first meeting and then actually being in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. This phase is called a "Some" relationship. So I though that's what we were, while he assumed we were already boyfriend and girlfriend when he confessed. Does that make sense?

This is too accurate to my husband and I and how we got together. We’ve been together since high school and in 2005, we went to our high school winter ball. He actually just started holding my hand out of nowhere. For a couple of months, it was assumed by both of us (I am an INFJ and he is an INTJ) that we were “official” but we never said it until our friends pointed it out lol. Just that, INFJs need a lot of love and since I have been working on my tertiary since 4 years, I have started appreciating his little efforts which made a huge difference. It was 4 months of "Thank you for being so kind" even when I expressed my feelings and alignment. And then BAM one day, "I love you and want to marry you" + telling his parents (which Is a big deal in India). INFJs are the best people in this universe. @@sarahthomas2922 Honestly, I don't think, how someone is treated is a very generalized thing. But yes, I personally have had some of the experiences with my INFJs. My mother, my brother, my best friend of 12 years and now my fiance and even his sister, these 5 people in my life, who are actually in the very close knit circle of mine have had a mix of experiences. I have seen that only a handful of people are able to understand INFJs and treat them the level they deserve to be. Thankfully, I have an insight about this and I make sure that all my INFJs are being treated with the understanding and love they need to be the healthiest and most profound version of themselves. One thing I noted is,all of these have a very inherent and very deep emotional range (unlike mine) and even when they are hurt, they know how to function (which is not seen in INTJs -NiFi loop). I think what an INFJ wants the most is healthy respect, even more than love. They are so sweet and so hardworking. Excellent in their careers. Infact, we are all from science backgrounds. My mother taught Chemistry to highschoolers, my brother is a neurologist, my best friend is an orthopaedician,my fiance is a dermatologist, and i am a doctor, and now preparing for my speciality. Even my fiance's sister is in pharmacovigilance. I think, INFJs do wonders in healthcare and science. They are just amazing people who just are misunderstood and they have their little shells and their lovely, colorful self comes out in front of someone who loves them dearly and is close enough and vulnerable enough. I am in love with my fiance more than I can ever explain. He is the most amazing person in this entire galaxy. Coming from an INTJ, who had to work on this for years, to say it out loud, because My INFJ deserves every bit of it.

As an INFP, the first time I decided to confess my love to a significant other, I literally sat in silence for 20-30 minutes while I rehearsed my lines over and over again. Then I finally took the plunge and started to explain how I felt, but when my partner didn't respond as I had planned, I gave up and never actually said, "I love you." The second time I tried I was so scared but the feelings were deep and intense and I couldn't hold them in any longer. I mustered all my strength and whispered, "I love you." Then he responded, "Did you say something?" and I laughed and said, "never mind..."

As an INFP woman, here's how went my last love confession. I was 8 years old, took an hour to write a short passionate love declaration, then threw it in the trash in fear of rejection. Then I had a great idea. I asked my only childhood friend to subtlely ask him "if he loved me OR any other girls". Then my friend came back, told me "Sorry, he said he hates you." Then, my heart felt both painful from hearing that answer and light to know I avoided the worst humiliating moment of my life thanks to my childhood friend. Thank you again friend !!!

I'm an INFP and I also used to get both of those. Some Fi types can have a bit of a disconnect between what they're feeling on the inside and what they're expressing on the outside. Sometimes this means we fail to outwardly express what we're feeling at all, and other times, it just seems to pour out raw and unfiltered. Whereas Fe types tend to have much more natural awareness of how they come off to others and do more modulating of how they express themselves. With time, I've developed that skill to some extent, but I used to be clueless about it.

As a felow ENFP, I think this might happen a lot to us. I have lliterally had my friends tell me that they knew I had just broken up but they felt as if they didn't tell me that someone else would get to me first.... So although sweet, it sets up a real issue with us.... My thought when I read this was... "IF you really knew me, then you would realize it takes me about a week to process that I need to do the dishes let alone how long it is going to take me to process my terrible break up... and now having to process even THIS... " I think because we have a hundred ideas we can throw out at people in an instant, they also think we can process our feelings that fast. So yeah, I have been there where if the timing was right, I may have started something with them or even tried but hopping from one relationship to the next is not at all what people in general need to do, let alone an ENFP, that can take a while to realize what reality we are living in. I have learned that I DONT tell ANYONE when I break up with someone.... let me process it.... AND THEN tell everyone.

I’m an INFJ who knew about 1 month into meeting my now partner of near one year now that she was “the one” compared to others. My confession was the scariest part of my life lol. My partner’s an INTJ. I scared the crap outta her because instead of the usual “hey I really like you, do you feel the same?” I hit her with the “If I only get one chance to say this, I’m gonna say it right. I love you. I love making you smile and laugh. You’re beautiful.” I was so scared about that confession that I sent it via a video chat instead of being on call (we’re long distance but moving in together later this year) and knocked out immediately afterwards, forgetting the whole thing until I saw the group chat. The scary part was she wanted to ask what I really meant to see how sincere it was and we even hashed out how we both felt. It took two hours and I was just slowly talking and stuttering. Now though I can say “I love you.” “Let’s have a family.” Even “I want to marry you some day.” She knows I’m dead serious, as I always am. Until her there was literally nobody I’ve ever felt I could be open with but now suddenly it was worth the wait. Anyways, thanks for reading my story I guess. Idk why I even posted this. There’s hope for you fellow INFJs though, I promise. And don’t wait too long.

I'm an INTJ (Woman) and my lover is an ISTP (Man). Even though I am autistic, I'm very self aware and extremely analytical, so the moment he threw me a subtle flirt (complimenting my hair in private chat), I noticed, but because I have ASD I decided to wait and see if there was a pattern. Then, the second flirt happened and I was 99.999% sure, but thought to myself "I need more data" while preparing a counter flirt. As soon as the third flirt hit I launched my missile (I said "You have no business being so suave with me!", I think I saw his heart sink for a second, but then we burst out laughing). Then I threw a flirt back. We then proceeded to officially ask each other if we liked each other, then started talking about when we realized it was happening. This happened in a span of 2 days 😂 The way I first described I was in love (hadn't realized it yet), I was talking to my friend and I was "Men like this exist?! Whaaaat?!" My friend (INFJ) was like "OOOOOH YO LIKE HIIIIIM". I was confused but I revised my previous experiences and after thorough analysis, I determined she was correct. Nicee, im kinda like on the other side lol, im a ISTP male and ive been talking to this girl on msg for more than a month now, we immediatly clicked the moment we started talking, and we kept the conversations going as we started to know more and more about each other. we would talk for hours at times about everithing from generall sumbjects to the aspects of our lives, and i have geniuine feelings for her and made sure to show my appretiation for her company. Tho i tend to over think details and aspects and making myself have doubghts if im even good enough for her (i have ADHD and ive had bad experiences in about everything regarding people for my whole life, i alwais have the costant fear that people think im weird and judge me behind my back and that people will reject me. So i got used to assume people think of me that way and its left me very fragile and doughbtfull even when having a simple conversation, basically scarring my social skills and self esteem) but when i talk to her she completely cancells all these toughts and simply just makes me geniunly happy to be there talking with her. I stop the costant thinking and worring about the issues and problems in my life and lets me think that i might actually have a shot at love and happiness in life and that i can overcome the obstacles blocking me from having a normal life. So decided i would try to tell her about my feelings. At first i started with some very subbtle flirts here and there and just complimenting as usual, and they where real compliments i said nothing i actually ddnt think and just told her what i really thought, but i needed to actually confront her about my feelings. So one day i got all my courage, took the offortunity of the subject of one of our usual talks we where having and asked if we could be in a relationship, it was a subtle question but i think she understood what i meant, and to my surprise she ddint say no and actually talked to me ab it, and we mutually agreed we should get to know each other more before we get together. I am so happy becouse this is the first time i got the courage of asking out someone, and i think the fact she ddnt reject me and even considers the possibility is amazing, so i consider it a sucsess and i think the result was fantastic! The only real obsticle is the time difference but im certain we can overcome that too if we work together!

@@sandern69 Hey, I get where you're coming from to an extent. My lover and I started the same, just talking with each other and we just love being in each other's company. I have ADHD as well, I am autistic and have a plethora of other mental and physical health issues due to much abuse and diseases that just came along with life. I constantly question if I'm good enough as well. He's 10 years older than me, so he's a bit more experienced than I am, even if we are both very mature and we feel as equals, it sometimes gnaws at my self esteem. The thing that really help us out is being direct in how we feel. I am the more emotional one, for sure, but he is incredibly supportive and quells my intrusive thoughts. It helps that he used to suffer from generalized anxiety disorder as well, so he knows where I come from and reassures me. On my side, I always try to be understanding, using my more logical side, to not let the emotional disregulation of the ADHD take over and jump to conclusions.

@linn45112 жыл бұрын
@@sandern69 As for age. I'm 24 years old, he's 34. We just started our relationship last year. For reference, I have a Master's in Public health and epidemiolgy and am working as an epidemiologist currently, and am debt free. He works repairing telecommunication devices for the federal government. For my ADHD, I tried various medications. The one that worked for my ADHD was Strattera. Unfortunately, much like the stimulants I tried, it worsened my anxiety and I started having daily panic attacks, so I had to discontinue meds. The things that have worked with managing my ADHD the most are mostly environmental modifications. Being able to modify your environment is very powerful. I took a month to just declutter and throw everything that I didn't need away. The less things you have, the less mess around. I made sure to assign a dedicated space to each item in my desk/drawers etc. I reduced everything so that, when it gets messy, it takes no more than 5 minutes to organize. Minimize the amount of distractions around. Another tip is, DO NOT rely on your memory, EVER. Write everything down. I carry a notebook with me where I write everything. You can also try to use a personal Discord server for that, since you can access it on your phone anytime. I also schedule everything in one place: Google calendar, I forget to check physical agendas, but not my phone. I have the default notification reminders on GC to be the day before and 4 hours before the event, then leave the notification on my phone so I can see it every time till it's done. If possible, "add guests" to your events, as they will receive notifications and can keep you accountable. Make a household inventory and make it a thing to check it every week so you don't run out of toilet paper. I have found that, so as not to forget to do these things, I assign days to tasks. For example: Sundays are cleaning and inventory days. That way I don't forget, because that's what I do on Sundays! Then I check on my Discord the list of things that encompass cleaning and inventory. I have been using an app called Finch which helps with mental health and can serve as a goal setting app. Make sure to get good sleep. Bad sleep worsens ADHD symptoms considerably. If you are prone to leaving things misplaced, put some baskets or boxes in the rooms. These are your "For later" baskets, so if you don't have the time or bandwidth to deal with wrapping these gifts or something, just drop them there, that way you don't misplace them, and they are not on the floor or in the way. Don't waste extra energy in things that aren't necessary and not important. Like, do you really need to fold your underwear perfectly everytime? Just chuck them on their corresponding drawer, it makes the chore of putting away clothes a lot faster and more bearable too. At work, whenever the possibility is there, do not say "I'll call you", rather ask the other party to call you, it takes pressure off of your memory. Email yourself things you need to remember. Even better if you can schedule it for the appropriate date. Also, for work emails or other important emails, I use the snooze everytime I know I can't take care of the issue at the moment and have to resolve it later in the week. Since my brain does a memory formatting from one day to the other, having the email snoozed and pop up again at 8 am the next day is a godsend. Take care of taxes and other documentation as soon as you can. Do not delay it EVER. Make it a numbers game if you want. Taxes are a game where you know the rules from the beginning, so plan accordingly and you'll be fine. Organize your computer folders very neatly. Sync them to Google Drive so you can access documents at any time from your phone. It's a life saver for when you forget a document at home but can access it and send it through email or whatever. Make cooking as easy as possible. Non sticks and gadgets that turn off automatically or have a loud timer are your friend. Make it a routine to move any frozen food to the fridge to thaw the night before, so you don't have to worry about thawing the next day (plus you're indirectly planning your meal) Hope this helps!

Was in love with a guy for about five years but I was never able to do anything because of my insecure self and doubting if he felt the same way despite so many people telling me that he probably had feelings for me aswell. The fact that he was a damn wreck of a person aswell didn't help either, because anytime we got something starting our anxiety would kick in, I would withdraw and he would go into an offensive state. It was on and off, high and extremely low but for some reason neither of us did anything to break that vicious cycle even tho we both knew how incredibly toxic that was. Last time we saw eachother something had again started to blossom between us and he was even taking some steps. It ended very abruptly and I haven't seen him for almost a year now. I still have feelings for him somewhere deep in my heart but I know it would have never worked and I have made my peace with it, it hurts less now than it did then. Oh boy did it hurt. Five years is a long time. Every time I think I spot him in the city or pass places he would be I pray that I don't see him yet at the same time something irrational in me wishes to get a glimpse of him and for him to see me too. In conclusion, as a very broken INFP, I need to take extra care to not get into this kind of hell hole again.

INFP here. I think my culture helped me. In Germany we're not very prudish and not very focused on marriage as a goal. When I was a teen, telling someone you liked him wasn't something that put you in danger of being made fun of. It was considered very normal to tell the other person how you feel. Most of the times you'd be told that the other person doesn't feel the same for you, so this was something that happened to everyone and therefore wasn't really humiliating. Hence I really never had difficulties at expressing my feelings for someone.
