Argerich in her prime, taking no prisoners. This performance is not for everyone (especially those more comfortable with her later video collaborations with Barenboim and Enrico Fagone) but this is white hot Liszt, as astounding as the day this remarkable concerto was born. If Argerich seems fast, perhaps it is YOU who are too slow. (To borrow from Raymond Lewenthal in a different context.)

Two people had a stroke and then missed the like button to the right. Either that or blind jealousy are the only reasons why anyone would dislike this absolutely mammoth and shredding performance of a towering Liszt composition by a living legend in her prime! Martha is the best!

she was several times mad at hime and provocated tempi and answers, as Dohnany wasn't absolute able to be flexible enough to follow her demoniacally free and extatic playing.I love it

An astounding, volcanic performance from her white-hot youth (at age 40)! I love too her more recent performances, which perhaps in some sense are even more flabbergasting in that she was in her late 70s. The way she tosses off the most fiendishly difficult passages with apparent ease, as if they were child's play, never for a moment losing focus on the music, is scarcely to be believed!
