Hola Raúl, According to the Deutsch catalogue, Schuberts' "die Grosse" is actually symphony No. 8. But there has been - and still is - some controversy about it. Brahms originally counted it as No. 7 and other publishers later counted it as No. 9. But this has been revised since 1978. Also, Breitkopf & Härtel, publisher of the symphony, considers it be No. 8. But surprisingly or not, the other counting is still often used, even on CDs or in concert programmes. 😊

Am wondering if this is labeled Sym #8 because someone doesn't count the "Unfinished (#8) as a symphony. That would make this one the eighth. Seems unlikely, but perhaps that's the explanation. No classical music fan would mistake the 9th for the 8th, and this may be a simple error by the person who posted this. Anyway--the performance is superb, the music divine.
