Great conversation. The Tudor steel & gold chronograph is my choice. I’m not a two-tone fan usually but the brushed gold works well (if you don’t mind the fact that the centre links aren’t solid - I don’t mind). It’s a handsome, cohesive design.

I prefer the DD145.022's dial to the inverted version on the new Moonshine watch. And maybe like the Sedna version more than both of those, but I need to see them in the metal to be sure. I'm not sure I agree with Nacho on the dial for the Sedna version either - if it was inverted, it would be the same as the dial on the full Sedna gold version and be less of a differentiator - I like the pink panda!!!

In the early Nineties I was a first officer for Delta Air Lines. When I decided to upgrade my timepiece, I'd originally considered Breitling but ended up buying a GMT Master II in two-tone instead. It was a great decision. Aside from the obvious utility of the GMT doing the job it was created to do, it was also a great accessory for the Delta uniform - a navy blue coat with gold buttons and stripes. It was the perfect tool watch for a pilot who had traded his Nomex flight suit for a double-breasted coat and slacks. Yeah, we looked good.... Haters gonna hate, but I logged many thousands of hours with that GMT and still wear it in the rotation today. It remains a favorite which brings back a lot of great memories and will be one of the last to leave the stable. Love them, hate them or just don't care, there's a reason why all the major manufacturers continue to offer bi-tone watches year after year.

For me there is only one watch that gets away with two-tone. The medium sized Cartier Santos.

Fun conversation. I think two-tone is not only about aesthetics but also nostalgia. I grew up in NYC and I am older enough to remember when two-tone was popular and I always associated it with the 70s & 80s (sadly, however, not in a good way!) To me, a two-tone watch evokes memories of either guys in polyester shirts unbuttoned to their navel and gold chains around the neck or used car salesmen.

Still not convinced tbh. Prefer either all gold or all stainless. Kind of like cars: go full on petrol or commit 100% to EV. Don’t bother with hybrid.

All gold on a strap . Two tone or SS for a bracelet . An all Gold bracelet usually doesn’t add too much contrast

Nope can’t say I do. They were always the stepsister choice, and when the tides does not rise all watches, these two tones (talking about steel en yellow gold) are the first to sink like a brick

I don't think I have seen a single good looking two-tone watch, and this episode did not change that.

I agree Explorer in 2-tone is hideous…. Yes I’m a regular Explorer owner so I’m not hating the watch concept. I DO THINK however that with a while dial THEN the Explorer 2-tone might look amazing!
