A trick (from a professional upholsterer) for memory, or any sort of foam; When it starts losing its shape or "deflating", take a clothing steamer and get the steam all the way through it. I've done this countless times to older foam, and you can watch the foam reinflate and take it's original shape.

I will stand by what I have said 1 million times, this generation needs to discover toaster ovens. When you live in Las Vegas the last thing you wanna do is turn your oven on in the summertime. I hardly use my big oven except for the holidays. I also do not own a toaster because a toaster oven also toasts toast!

For the HexClad pan, all stainless steel gets that tarnish. Use a little “barkeeper’s friend” and it comes right off
@Gimp22884 жыл бұрын
Yup, just commented that myself. It's carbonization of fats like what happens when you're seasoning cast iron or carbon steel. Too little fat and too much heat in that area will do that. Pretty much an eventuality with any stainless steel skillet.
@BbGun-lw5vi3 жыл бұрын
@@Gimp2288 Great to know! Thanks. Do you think it’s better to leave the carbonization on steel pans like the ones in my toaster oven than remove it with barkeepers? I figure if seasoning on cast iron pans makes them nonstick, maybe it’s better to leave that seasoning on steel pans to make them nonstick. Thank you.
@bldrnnr113 жыл бұрын
The Barkeepers Friend is abrasive and contains Oxalic Acid which may damage the HexClad pan. Before resorting to that, I would try using good old-fashioned Baking Soda to clean the pan. For extra cleaning power, you can try adding a little white vinegar.
@bldrnnr113 жыл бұрын
@@Gimp2288 Oil (fat) polymerizes at the smoking point. This is what creates the glass-like non-stick surface on those carbon steel pans and stainless steel pans that the pros use.
@Gimp22883 жыл бұрын
@@bldrnnr11 that shock surface occurs because the layer of fat is thin enough to properly polymerize, if the layer is too heavily laden then instead of true polymerization you get a pseudo polymer almost of stuck on fat that can no longer be removed simply with soap or traditional degreasers.

Loved this review as I have both the Ninja oven and grill. Quick grill cleaning tip.....the second you take the food out, unplug the grill, fill with enough HOT tap.water to cover the grill plate, then throw in a little Dawn Power wash and let soak. By the time you're done eating the grill plate will have soaked clean, just rinse it off (you might have to scrub a TEENY bit) and you're good to go for the next time. Oh and I bake brownies in my grill a.lot so it's really good for baking as well as griling.

I agree with you on your Ninja grill! I use mine hard and daily and it's impossible to keep clean at almost 2 years old! Those nooks and crannies are grease collectors on the grill grate and even the pan is showing its age! I do use metal cleaning brushes and Brillo pads and the grill is holding up well but it's the only way to clean it because that nylon brush is useless! It's like cooking in cast iron and being well seasoned...Nice job on your honest reviews!

Question: Why do you use the beautyrest vs your top rated pillows like the purple and coop? For the grilled cheese I'm still saying Panini press worked the best because it did the job plus it can do so much more. For the Hex pad did soaking with soapy water help the scrubbing?

I got the hexclad pan set a little before you did your original review of it. I too was pretty impressed with it back then. However, now, I hate it and have gone back to using my cast iron pans on it. I've seasoned and re-seasoned these stupid things and everything sticks to them like they have glue on them. I spray cooking oil on it, I pour cooking oil on them, doesn't matter meat and eggs stick like glue. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, maybe someone else in the family is doing something wrong but I hate them, and they are so discolored it's crazy, unless I get out the Bartender's Friend and brill-ow pad and scrub the hell out of them.

Not sure if you have tried this with the ninja foodi grill, but a friend told me how she cleans it and it works very well. When you are done using it, put it in the sink run hot water on the sink, put the outer pan on top of it and fill with hot water and a little soap. Let it soak and when time to clean up after dinner use the brush it came with and it cleans right up.

Freakin reviews, one question about the hexclad pan, did it retain its non-stick qualities? I don't give a care about discolorations, we don't buy cookware for looks, but does it stay nonstick! That matters to me more than anything else about the pan, if it still cooks well and is still nonstick. Thank you for your reply, anxiously awaiting your answer!
