@@ryanf2029 Agree he's pretty well recognized, but still astonishes me how many people I've met who have never watched Portlandia. They've heard of it, seen a clip or two, but that's it. Show was by FAR the best satirical treatment of the present day than anything else on TV. By contrast, SNL is STILL satirizing "local ads," a cultural form that was practically extinct back in the 1990s.

Man, his ear for accents and his ability to do them, is second to none. Watch anything you find on him doing accents and you'll be amazed at how detailed he is.

That was really good - Armisen is at times more of a social anthropologist than a comedian... A fallback if the nighttime gig didn't work out. Portlandia was a gem!

Oh my God, I can't wait for the new series to come on! I absolutely love documentary now!!! Fred Armisen is so hilariously funny! I honestly think he is one of the funniest people ever! So talented and funny. Can't wait to watch the new one! If you've never seen any of them honestly you've got to go back and watch all the way from season 1 they are hilarious!! Such a shame there is nothing that even resembles it today. Honestly, I'd take a mediocre, watered down Hollywood studio remake, but they would rather produce another warm and fuzzy family comedy, with sexual titillation lightly sprinkled over the whole.
