You can see Doug going out on the limb of trust. The little smirk on his face afterwards was like "typical Mastro". But seriously live blade stuff like that is so far into the realm of trust requirement that it's almost entirely inappropriate. You know those guys really know each other well and trust each other up to their eyes to be doing stuff like that.

Masters or not - there lies a degree - and a large degree of fuck up. You're bullshitting yourself if you think that some one would "let" this happen. I trusted a good deal of men shooting in close proximity to me... would I do it for a stupid fucking video? No. VODA does that shit.

with all of the people making waves about the live blade. To be honest, it's all talk until the live blade is in use. It's at that moment that you realize what Fred is doing works. Doug is an FMA Guru and this sort of thing is not unusual in that world. Fred is insanely one of the best and has made me rethink knife fighting and defense.

I must agree with you Joshua but what Mastro shows here is beyond the level of trust and goes far into what is "ultimate reality" in these life and death situations. Yes a lot of us do train in the self perfection aspect of martial arts but we have to face the reality and go into self preservation because life may depend on it. In as far as the participants I have nothing but respect for Mastro and Doug and Beardless GN for bringing this to light. Thank you.

Nice work. Real martial arts training involves pain. Giving pain, receiving pain and dealing with pain. Anything else is not combat oriented and is okay for kids and sport arts only. We only use dulled metal blades but never live blades. I don't think that was his risk to take. But my hats to all three of them!

That dead leg is intense. Some one did that to me before as a joke and I went straight down, zero stumble, zero words, and zero leg! People walking past me laying on the grown nearly in tears! I still to this day don't know who did it...
@adamsroka73028 жыл бұрын
This works because of basic physiology. If I am standing close enough to hit you without moving my feet, and I don't telegraph, then you do not have time to recognize the attack and do anything about it before I hit you. The clock starts when the attacker's motion begins. The defender's nervous system has a bunch of work to do before he can respond by beginning his own motion. That's why nearly all defense depends either on maintaining distance or binding/trapping/grappling as you close.
@nickc88198 жыл бұрын
Outstanding techniques, Excellent video. Keep up the good work.

I love this stuff because I do self with people (training) and I accept the pain of the technique because that is how they know that it's been applied correctly. You need to know how the body responds to technique the way you apply to know if it's a viable technique for you. Not all tech works for all people. I love this guy's stuff.

I would love to come to one of his classes, the real knife was scetchy but goes to prove this really works and that's what will save your life or someone else's.

Dear all, did you ever find a way to know what happens when you do things to others? Fred teach also that you know exactly the pain you are inflincting to others and how to deal with the force. With a good training, risk is decreasing and trust arise. That's why Doug have no fears, and the other guy do the job realisticly. If you train only with sticks, will you have the same reflexs on the streets? Fred is teaching for decades and all the time searching for all of us to improve techniques, find shortcuts, and delivers for free sometimes like here on this particular video the results where he achieves something. Thanks Fred. If there 's a price to pay, a little pain of somebody like the hat guy it's very cheap to get a chance to survive in difficult situation.
