BRAVO! That strike is LIGHTNING fast & guaranteed to get the first shot. It is truly amazing how you can line someone up this way and they don't even realize they are about to get hit. Funny thing, I read of this starting position in the 80's from a karate instructor who stated: "If you want to hide the fact that you have fighting skills, adopt this posture". I have always remembered it and now I see the incredible power of it! Thanks so much!

Never been in a fight before huh? It's okay... I get it. You've been in your "safe space" playing your PS4 for the past 19 years of your life -- and never had to deal with anything but your parent's "micro-aggressions". You need to get in a dojo. As a cop, I can tell you kid: this is how most fights start. Someone gets in your personal space in an attempt to mentally dominate you -- and physically intimidate you. They see you as a target -- and usually have their buddies backing their bullshit. Someone is going to get hit first. You have to decide before you ever get in a confrontation with someone: is it going to be YOU or THEM. It's called being preemptive. And don't think that turning around and walking away is going to save you. Chances are you will get sucker-punched and/or followed. If you are going to FLEE -- and by all means that may be the best choice -- then FLEE like Forest Gump in a football game. Good luck, kid.

This reminds me of chatting to a guy I used to work with in a bar, and we were talking about his 'martial arts training'.. he suggested showing me something, so I say ok.. then he proceeds to do a similar style of move and of course, I go with it.. then he keeps the pressure and forces me on to my back.. at which point I am livid. Then he adds an extra couple of seconds to the move for dramatic effect.. which I am totally compliant, as I do have good patience. I then tell him sternly to get off, and he does - although his insecurity was immediately apparent the moment he offered to show me the move. Now, the guy in this video clearly has a good skill, but it's important to realise that for any such move to be effective in a real life scenario, it must be practised several hundred, if not thousands of times in order to be truly autonomous and clean. Anyone viewing this video and attempting it in their next altercation will probably end up regretting it.

You're absolutely right! Many factors to be considered in real life combat situations. And, people are NOT always standing still like mannequins so that you can exercise your skills on them. Hits are not always so direct and impact upon the body can be different due to adrenaline as the opponent also quickly reacts to your body language. Karma is also another factor too!

+madumimike You misunderstood Aaron's point (which I absolutely agree with). Aaron notices that Fred (while being insanely lethal with his bare hands) is a far too rough with his assistants - in EVERY KZbin video since 2005! Fred enjoys showing how lethal he and his system are. Without a doubt his volunteers have complained that he was far too rough. Sociopaths leverage our 'trusting nature' to get what they want. ("Hey would you please help me demonstrate my technique in a new video for my KZbin channel - just take a second.). Fred wants to capture an impressive full-speed demonstration of his technique because to his way a thinking a painless slow-motion demonstration would lack the visceral impact he's looking for. A volunteer expressing anger after the taping is a another day at the office for Fred and an incredibly small cost of doing business. Karma will catchup to Fred.
@stillnessinmovement8 жыл бұрын
it's been my experience that, in general, the people who do more "real work" as bouncers or get in a lot of fights tend to be very rough. amateur people who learn for self-defense really don't like it. but if your going to learn how to really fight, you can't be too worried about rough. in a regular school, it's toned down enough to keep students around, and in a professional military situation, they are actually more careful, most of the time (absolutely lethal methods must be taught "defanged", relatively destructive methods can be done more vigorously). bouncers, people who name their system after themselves, and many others need and really want a "reputation" and being rough is a part of getting that reputation. I really like systema training for dealing with this,, it is very good at helping you learn how to take "rough" treatment and stay safe and relaxed. the plus side is that you learn what it feels like, which is super helpful to learn how to do it. personally, if I trust a teacher, i am very willing to let them be quite rough with me, it's a part of martial arts. not just how to win, but how to be tough, how to not be bothered by discomfort, how to stay comfortable and relaxed and functional when shit hits the fan. anyway, just my opinion...
@stillnessinmovement8 жыл бұрын
thats a part of what im saying. they like to be known as tough guys, rather than really getting serious about the implications of injuries in training. the best training has a balance of being rough in a safe way, a lot of "tough" guys just like to bully people.

that guy was a JERK! can't believe he kept hitting the other guy like that. Completely unaware (or apathetic) to hurting another person. Terrible, just terrible. Downvote for sure.
@BulletMagnetMan8 жыл бұрын
Oh please. It's called demonstrating a technique. He volunteered for it. Yes he is hit multiple times but it's to show the effectiveness of the technique not to cause him permanent harm. Clearly you've never done Martial Arts or you'd know this was common place and necessary for learning how techniques work. I've had plenty worse done to me than that.

We all know the asshole who practices on the new guy in class. It's a dick move. Do it with a more formidable, more prepared opponent. It was unnecessary. It was a dick move from a bully.

Not sure why so many are being critical of this demo. The guy wasn't overwhelmed with surprise or shock. He willingness to participate as the recipient of this ambush tactic shows he's not scared, he demonstrated a degree of courage as despite knowing he's not going to really harm you it does stun and throw a person. off for a moment. That's the whole idea, with practice this tactic could!d be devastating to one of those bully's that like to talk shit... Well done guys...😎

1: Don't disrespect people by hitting them. Either hit them fully or not at all. 2: Speak up and use eye contact, again out of respect. 3: Try to stay as far away as possible when in a fight. The streets have no rules and blades and bullets are easy to use.

Good stuff , very similar to our G.M. Agustin Lopez in Madrid Spain.. Same concepts on striking and control. Fred Mastro techniques are very effective and to the point. In a street fight seconds count , make them count to your advantage. Thank you for posting quality self defense techniques. Burt Vickers - Kajukembo Self Defense Systems USA.

+Exit 1Ø1 you have a weird idea of western Europe. even as tourists you can go quite safe trough the mayor cities. maybe you're thinking about eastern Europe.
@longshotkdb8 жыл бұрын
The Captain yes, i ca see how it may appear that way, perhaos i should have emphasised more, 'the wrong side of paris' because, it is, as most western european cities very peaceful, but it also has very serious people, who have clubs, where serious business is done i happen to live in ireland, born raised in belfast, so i know a wee bit about violence' in western europe! =) although sadly, dublin now is probably the murder capital of europe, because the connections developed, the weapons and expertise gathered during 'the troubles' are now being brought to bare in criminal, gangster, drug turf wars.... its the saddest thing you ever saw.
@nunya95558 жыл бұрын
+Exit 1Ø1 I hate to hear that. The Irish have always been fighters though. It seems like all through history, if they weren't fighting each other they were fighting as mercenaries. Things are getting rough the world over nowadays. The leaning seems to be for governments to be easy on crime and at the same time push for the eradication of a man's normal aggressive leaning, making docile men. So this paradigm creates better criminals and easier prey. God bless you, and Ireland.
