Maybe the reason why Jason is curled up as a boy is from Freddie's strength of becoming a person's nightmare. He got inside Jason's head and put him back in that moment as a boy of having that first traumatic memory of being left in the sunken water. When Jason is older he's learned to embrace the water like Batman and the dark but Freddie took over his mind and placed him back in that childhood memory.

When Freddy Vs. Jason came out, my friend and I were so excited to see it. Unfortunately, it premiered the same weekend that the infamous East Coast Blackout of 2003 happened. As a result, we couldn't see it opening weekend as we had hoped because movie theatres had briefly closed down to conserve power, and we had rolling blackouts for the next month while power was restored. That weekend, my friend and I ended up renting and watching Cowboy Bebop: The Movie instead (we got lucky and were in one of the areas where power had been restored, but only to residential areas). When movie theatres finally opened again, we got to see Freddy Vs. Jason on the big screen, and it was an absolute treat.

Interesting Fact, there was a proposed sequel to FvJ called Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, where Ash Williams from Evil Dead joined the fray. The film was obviously never made but it was adapted into a comic-book mini-series that is actually pretty good.

I was underwhelmed by the comic, but that may be due to the fact that it's missing the bigger than life personas of Robert Englund and Bruce Campbell.

Maybe Jason was afraid of water in the dreamworld because it psychologically represented his humiliation as a child? Dreaming being a state where we are at the mercy of our subconscious. Not saying the screenwriters necessarily intended this, but it might make some sense of it Great episode, guys!

"We shot him into space, that didn't help!" No we didn't... Jason X actually answers all those "Did we do X to Jason?" questions. We capture Jason and hold him at a military complex built at Camp Crystal Lake. While there, the military does experiments on him in attempts to try and kill him. None of them work. In the end he gets cryogenically frozen. In the far future he gets unfrozen after a ship full of students visits Earth and picks him up as a relic of the past. So, to answer the question... in the extended Jason Universe, he is completely unkillable and everything has been tried.

Craig -- No need to wait to be a 60-year-old man to play dominoes! It's a perfect bar game, and my wife and I play all the time whenever we go to taprooms, beer gardens, or whatever other situations where you're sitting at a table and talking for a while. You can get more complicated with the game if you want, but the basic "draw" game requires little thought (perfect during/after a few drinks).

Like a good number of movies that appeared on this show, it's a movie that has good ideas, but doesn't fulfill a lot of them. The idea of Jason and Freddy fighting, and a bunch of kids being caught in the middle is a great idea. The dream fight should be Freddy's turf, and it's just kind of lame as a fight. He should be going in and out of walls and just be able to appear behind Jason to take him down, but he just pelvic thrusts a bunch. I also really liked the idea Craig had about Jason being sympathetic. It should be like a Godzilla movie, where the people caught in the middle need to pick a side and help out whatever monster. There's a lot of potential and would be ripe for a remake if the rights to "Friday the 13th" weren't a total mess at the moment.

18:12 Despite being a lifelong dedicated horror fan, I have a very similar story about watching Scary Movie 2 (the intro scene being a spoof of The Exorcist). I had siblings who were all 7+ years older than me so I watched it about age 5 and it TORMENTED me. Like cover my ears, "lalalalala", and run to the next room until it was over, STRESS. This was also the time when they rereleased The Exorcist with the Spider Walk deleted scene so it was EVERYWHERE. I still can't even see gifs of Regan without a chill going down my spine, even though I know it's not that scary by modern standards. Something about those high quality effects for the era + Mercedes McCambridge's voice still fucks me up, and demons are NOT my thing in terms of horror even now.

The human characters were a little boring especially the two leads and I agree with Craig on that they made Jason look like a b@@@h at times but still a pretty fun movie. Not the best movie for Freddy or Jason but nowhere near the worst.

I’m probably the only one, but I would like to hear Matt’s thoughts on Bone Tomahawk if he does ever watch it. I will admit, I didn’t watch it to the end. As an indigenous person there’s only so much I can take with that kind of movie. All I was thinking the whole time was, are we really still doing this in 2015? We still haven’t retired native cannibals as a horror topic at this point? There are lots of ways you can incorporate indigenous people and themes into a horror movie without resorting to that kind of lazy trope. Check out Blood Quantum or The Dead Lands for example.
