In this video I'm showing you how I made my own bezel free kit from an old monitor/tv.
Very simple way to make the bezels on your triple monitor setup hidden using the transparent themoplastic film inside an old tv or monitor!

I discovered the film when a friend accidentally broke my monitor we started plying with it and wrapped it around our heads and it makes your perception as if you were drunk stumbling about. When I saw the rog one for 100$ I immediately saw how much of a scam it was

So I went on marketplace and bought an old 4/3 monitor for 25 Bucks. I went to pick it up, which took me an hour. When I disassembled it I saw that I don't have separate foils but a fused sandwich of layers, glued together. I tried to separate them, which just destroyed the layers. That costed me 25 bucks and about two hours of my time. underneath this sandwich is a foil but it doesn't look like what you have in your video. Its milky white and it doesn't hide the bazels at all

Ya know, while not perfect, and not quite as nice as Asus' kit, these are absolutely amazing for free. I know the Asus kit requires 120* angle, do you think this would work on a way less angled settup? I only have two, 32" curved monitors, so a big, sharpe angle like 120* is.. not pleasing. They are maybe at saayyy, 3-5*?

I pulled apart a dead 42” LG TV. It had the glass then two layers of what looked like what you have and a thinker whitish plastic backer, the two thin film sheets look promising. Going to give it a try on my triple 55” flight Sim rig. Anything you can add would be appreciated.
@RyderTech
@RyderTech Жыл бұрын
yes most will have two of the transparent thermo plactic in them and one hazy film so you should have those 2 to work with you can just hold up that film to your bezels and you'll know how much to use before cutting seem to be best when I had 1.50 inch on both sides of my screens
@MrScott_e
@MrScott_e Жыл бұрын
@@RyderTech figured I would hold them up next to the bezel first to confirm how best to use them. Cut and adhere with 1/8” wide double sided tape. Excellent!

@@RyderTech I have the correct side based on how you described it in the video and what I can see from what you showed but when I crease and apply them between the screens i can still see the black bezel. If I flip it over it is obviously clearer so I think I have the correct side. do you apply it firmly against the screen or does it stand off a bit at the bezel? is it possible to send you a few pictures to show you what I have and what I am seeing? Thanks. Scott
@Chubbza5
@Chubbza5 Жыл бұрын
Those clear sheets are called polarizing layers. One will be vertical, the other will be horizontal. You can use either layer, but it will depend on how you cut it out. An easy way to tell is to hold it up in front of something and see if there are duplicates going vertically or horizontally. You want to use the piece that splits things horizontally. Cut vertical strips out of that one. Or horizontal strips out of the other one.
@MrScott_e
@MrScott_e Жыл бұрын
@@Chubbza5 armed with this new info I will take another stab at it. With 55” screens at a 70/110 angle, and about a 1\2” bezel, is 1.5” the ideal width for the strips?

@@RyderTech this is a common mistake. look up CORRECT FOV on google and do the actual math. you will have a way better experience. my triple 32" are 64cm my eye to center screen. As close as possible to the backside of my g923 wheel. this determines the angle you want so my side monitors are at 57 degrees. makes them 63 inches wide. My FOV is 34 degress Here are the actual calculations you want to make... FOV = 2 x {invTan x [(ScreenHeight ÷ 2) ÷ ViewingDistance]} ScreenAngle = 2 x {invTan x [FullDeviceWidth ÷ (2 x ViewingDistance)]}

Is this mainly a content creator thing? When racing with triples I hardly notice the bezels. The way the camera captures it can be quite different to the eyes so I’m interested in how you think it looks in real life compared to in the video?

Hello, please I need your help with my triple screen. I have an Nvidia Rtx 3080Ti graphics card so 1 HDMI and 3 displayports. I am above all a gamer so I plan to put HDMI on my 65 inch TV for my action adventure games. Then my 3 displayports on my triple screen for SimRacing. My question is if I can have a two main screen (my 65 screen for my action adventure games and the middle screen of my triple screen as a second main screen) I took a long time in order to explain it better, please help me if there is a solution for me. Sincerely
@RyderTech
@RyderTech 2 ай бұрын
Can’t have two main screens but you don’t need to. What I personally would do is have the 65” the main and then setup the middle triple be the next one. So the racing games you play you can set that middle screen to be the “main” once you start that particular game up. It’s a little tedious at first start up for each racing game you play but once you have the settings saved it’ll be fine. I hope this helps!

Freakin LOVE you dude! I remember when these things came on the market, but they were too small and way too expensive and I remember thinking "There has got to be a way to easily replicate this with like for like no money, just need to wait on someone to figure it out". Im trying to make a virtual window with 3 50" tvs (just need 1 more) and this would work so nicely :D Whats the widest angle you can get with between monitors?
@RyderTech
@RyderTech Жыл бұрын
Thanks!!! And as for the widest angle I’m not sure but what I would do is before you cut any strips hold the film up to the corner and see how far you can get away with but I would think around 2 inches and the farther away the film is to the screens more it will cover but you’ll see the limit so you might have to play with it a bit
