Back when I played City of Heroes, they had a glitch one night. The NPCs had spawn points and would start to wander around the city. That night, they spawned, but didn't wander. There were just scores of NPC's standing in lines by lamp posts, or mail boxes, or bus tops. The visibility of the zone also has a decimal move, so you could only see a few dozen feet before things grayed out, like being in a heavy fog. It was one of the creepiest things that ever happened in a game. In Silent Hill, you expected it to be creepy, so it wasn't. Here, you had three years of normal behavior as a baseline, then it all just stopped.

All of the characters in the game have the same potential as Guy...but the thing is that they need a rather substantial trigger. Most of them have the right structure to grow, but there's really nothing special about them that would ever cause them to deviate. They're potentially self-aware AI, but they're all otherwise very basic in operation. Guy, was specifically built to be "for" Millie, and to want only her. To be her perfect match, and for her to be his. He was supposed to never get her...as a representation of Keys' unrequited love for her. So, when Guy actually meets her in the game, his code fully kicks in to what it was originally designed for, and he becomes obsessed with her. That obsession leads him to throw away everything about his routine, and do any and everything he possibly can to reach her. And Guy then becomes someone who breaks the other characters out of their routines by disrupting them with his shenanigans. In fulfilling his true designed purpose, he begins to force the others to realize their own potential. Every life he touches, he changes. And by the end, he's outgrown his core directive, and even though he still loves Millie, he understands the truth, and is ready to move on with a life of his own.

Antwon's not worried about booting the players...because that he can deal with. All he has to do, is give everyone in Free City 2, who played the original, a giant consolation package of level boosters and all kinds of other goodies. Just like when any other multiplayer game goes down suddenly. It's just that he'd have to give them a bigger consolation package in this case. But it would still work. What he can't do...is let that secret out. There's no fixing that. It absolutely WILL ruin his company if he gets taken to court for it because he has NO chance of winning. So he's got a bad option, and a catastrophic option. So he's going with the one he can deal with in some way.

Something I didn't notice until the 2nd time I watched the movie, is at the end when Millie realizes that Keys made that game for her and she goes to the coffee shop, Keys is wearing a blue shirt; He IS Blue Shirt Guy.

7:24 Because he's a "jacked-rabbit"? 🤣 I'll see myself out. 😁 8:19 You are correct, Mi'Lady. 😋 13:00 So incredibly bad-ass. 😎 13:44 That too. 21:32 Channing is hilarious in this movie, but this moment is absolute gold. 😂🤢 28:36 This whole sequence is awesome, but... 29:27 ...this moment is when I'm pretty sure my neighbours could hear me cheering. 😃🤩🤘

Hey Vikki, not sure if you do your own sponsorship deals but please look in to the history of G2A, the fraud claims, the theft claims etc if you haven't heard about them all before over the years. Other than that, great reaction and actually made me want to go watch the movie now after I'd dismissed it previously

This is easily one of my top five films. Granted, I have at least thirty movies in my top five, but still, it just hits me in the heart. (Also, I used to work right where it was filmed, so it's a bit of nostalgia for me as well)

That's exactly how I feel with the 30+ movies in your top 5🤣🤣 because saying like your top 100 list feels like a disservice to all those movies you love so has to be top 5

Considering there are, without grossly exaggerating the numbers, tens of thousands of movies out there, a thirty count Top 5 still sounds like a pretty intimate collection. My own Top 5 has been on an unabashed freefall rotation most of my life.

@@MxQuist0812 Also, I just like movies. My philosophy is to always try to find something good, something worthwhile, or just something I enjoy in a movie. Life is too short to get worked up over what you don't like. And I can be bribed to watch just about anything; all it takes is popcorn and a box of licorice.

Powerful outro! People have been debating about whether we have free will or not and whether we are in a game or simulation or not. Ultimately, what Buddy says is probably the moral of the story! What can be more real than the moment we're in? Not an endorsement, but 31 flavors used to sell Bubble Gum Ice Cream with chunks of bubble gum in it. Not sure if they still do, but it is a real thing.

Bubblegum icecream has been a thing for decades. It's blue and has small chunks of bubblegum in it. It is basically the Hawaiian pizza of icecream. Either people love it or they hate it. It's not too easy to find anymore though, what with the plethora of weird flavored icecreams out there.

I had to take a minute to look at what might be the most busy product placement I've ever seen. You can see the entire sliding pay scale from those that paid the most (Kellogg) and got the most eye catching display on the scene, and those that paid the least (Pepto-Bismol) and got 1 out of focus semi-obstructed spot

Something you said in your closing comments made me think you miht actually enjoy "The 13th Floor". It's a sci-fi film that had the unfortunate timing of hitting theaters the same summer as The (original) Matrix. So, it's been completely overshadowed and forgotten. Still, it has some plot elements in common with both The Matrix and Free Guy. You might enjoy it.

FYI, most of the game world was shot in Post Office Square and the Seaport District in Boston. It's weird seeing my fav sammich shop in a game...without sammiches. I used to work right around the 'Bank Heist' location.

19:25 "everything it knows has to be coded. That's the whole thing with Artificial Intelligence" Actually, it's the opposite. The whole point of AI is it moves beyond coding. It learns. It applies what it learns and adapts beyond what humans have instructed it to do. That's why people are afraid of it. Because an advanced android can learn how horrible humans are and deceide to unalive the human race. (In theory.)
