Biggest problem with Amex card is, they dont work in most of the places where regular people spend money.. So to spwnd 4 lakh on those select places where Amex card works, you would have easily force spent more than that 1.2 lacs worth of hotel stay they are talking about on things those were never needed in first place. There is no free meal in this world my dear friends, spend wisely. Sharan is a clever guy, this is just new ways of ad/promotion which doesn't look like one. the point isnt that they spend 4 lakhs and get 48000 points. the point is that you will essentially spend 4 lakhs regradless and then the points are an extra bonus. Its not for you to spend 4 lakhs extra. Its when you were gonna spend the 4 lakhs you just spent it through credit cards and got the points as an extra. Credit cards are a good way to fall in debt and thats why you are incentivised to use them. but if you are discipline its basically a 10% off on everything in your life.(sometimes even more)

I read through the comments and people completely misunderstand the context here. Amex platinum is never a middle class card at all. Its for someone who has a fixed 4 L spend that he or she can use a credit card to pay rather than a debit card and easily expense it through their income. Its NOT FOR US!! For someone who spends 4L in a credit card which would include things like business travels etc would have net income of above 20L where 4 lakh falls under 20 percent of their annual in hand salary for it to make sense. THAT IS NOT MIDDLE CLASS. So people of the internet, please understand the context before mentioning fees and all that. This video is for people who can afford 4L spending annually, take vacations to huge hotels and locations and they can use this card to get all those amenities

He is partially right. I live in Germany, I hold Amex platinum. I use my card to book hotels either for travel, booking flights and buying regular shopping stuff and thats getting me to 30k Points a year and some offers and so on leads to 50k points. I move it to emirates and i upgraded my flights to business as one can transfer amex to emirates . And they put you in higher status when you hold amex and i can take my wife and child for free in Marriot or hilton or radisson. that does saves around 250 to 300 euros a year along with getting better rooms and upgrades.

@@mathan_raj so if you own Amex platinum, hotel chains like marrriot, Radisson, Hilton give you status upgrade. With a this status upgrade I book for 1 person without breakfast but I can stay with my wife and kid ( until 8 years) with no extra cost and breakfast is complimentary.. In such hotel chains breakfast are normally like 15 / 20 euros person. Next thing is with higher status, you get better reward points which one can use in later time to reduce cost or free stay. Next thing is if you use credit cards, pay back property then it is awesome in the sense you collect credit card points, you collect hotel points and you redeem with family for holidays.

The math here is wrong, he claims to spend 5L a year on his Amex , which gives him 60k points that gets converted to 78k points that is around 1-1.2L , but this 1-1.2L would have been spent on top of the 5L so he essentially made no return on the 5L but rather , if he chooses to spend another 1L he won’t have to due to the points Also if you do choose to spend the 1L there at additional costs like travel , food, activities etc so all in all the calculation of 25% is simply incorrect So 5L + the cost to spend 1L
