I'm no longer a member, yet I still come back all the time to listen to these old songs. Most of the songs are pertinent to all people who love God and I always feel close to him when I hear them. Can't get lyrics or positive frequency like this in music anymore.

Oh the feels! I remember listening to this tape over and over again on my Walkman. I truly felt like life wasn't turning out the way I thought it should. This album was where I turned to to give me some hope in a dark place. I love that someone created this for the youth of the church. I clung to it.

'Free to Choose' (0:00) was a "rock" anthem for me on my mission 30+ years ago :) And although not mentioned in the lyrics, the central role of Jesus Christ in our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness is implied. The prophet Lehi said: "Men are free to choose liberty and eternal life through the Great Mediator of all men; or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil." Life post-mission has been a real roller coaster ride because of my wise and also poor choices. They have brought both joy and pain in their train. But thankfully, the Lord of Light has always been there to banish darkness and sorrow from me, when I've cried out to Him and followed Him in all humility. Jesus is for real- the reason we are free to choose :)

Wow.... it's been over a year that I couldn't remember the name....the group..." afterglow" I've been dying to hear it all after 30 years full absence, despite having all the lyrics engraven into memory.. Then my buddy in saratoga springs, Ut. Shows me his ""mountian-glow"" on video chat. And the selective memory lighbulb went off here in Rio de Janeiro- macare' stake. Finally! Afterglow took me straight on to this album which i also listened to religiously. All those songs and memories ; freshman year in provo, then '87-89 in missao sao Paulo sul all came flooding back! Than you Russ, and thank you " free to choose" saints for the talent on loan.
